I'm getting discouraged about trying to
have baby without health insurance. I
refuse to pay for a maternity rider on a
policy and wait for a whole year before it
will go into effect. But i've heard that
having a baby without insurance can be so
expensive. Did anyone here pay out of
pocket for their doctor's visits/hospital
expenses? I really need some help here
ladies.
Thanks!!

Well my husband is a school teacher well
you would think there is some good health
insc. Wrong! It was 500. To put me on
his plan. So I did allot of research bc I
wasnt working when I got pregnant. Then I
discovered medicaid really it does help.
I was really precausious about getting it
at first bc I am stubborn and dont like to
receive help I like to do everything
myself. But honestly it helps. You have
to make less than 1,5 so that is how we
got it. So hopefully you could do the
same thing.

I have the same exact circumstances as
you. My husband is also a school teacher
and it would've costs around 400 a month
so we declined. I am also not working
right now and when I do start, it will
only be part time. I have looked at
medicade but we make just over the limit
to qualify:cry: . I am more than willing
to pay for a health insurance plan that
will at least help me out a little but
haven't been able to find anything that
starts immediately. So frustrating.

But see I cant do that bc we have rent
400. Then we have all theses other bills
so that is impossiable for us. I wish
though. He is going to put her on it but
not me. I mean our baby.

I Found Some! Posted: 09-09-05 00:01am
I actually did a lot of research and
finally found an insurance company that
will at least cover part of it. I have to
add a maternity rider on my policy and
they will cover 50% of the maximum amount
of that rider if I get preggo this year.
At least the helps some and doctor's will
actually except me because I will have
insurance. ::breathes big sigh of
relief:: thank you for all of your help!
