After having testicle pain (more in the
right, but also in the left) for about a
month I finally went to a urologist (i
went to a generalist before and he said it
was just some growing pain thing and would
go away... I'm 17). He diagnosed me with
epididymitis but did not prescribe any
antibiotics. He just said take ibuprofen
and hope it goes away. He seemed to think
it could be chronic (he said it might
stay, or go, he really had no idea).
Anyways, several questions. If it *is*
chronic is there any way to make it go
away? I've had it for about 3 months now.
It's really distracting and annoying.
Not incredibly painful but certainly
irritating. It often hurts for me to do
simple things like walking and sitting.
Also, is there danger that it could cause
infertility/damage to testicles?

did he do an exam? An ultrasound? You
should be on some form of mild antibiotic
if it is epididymitis, but it could be a
testicular torsion, varicocele,
spermatocele, etc. Do you have any
blood in your urine or semen? Does it
hurt worse after you urinate or ejaculate?
Any history of kidney stones?

He should of done an ultrasound. And it
can't be torsion because torsion would be
amazingly painful and would cause the
testicles to die. And how would he know
if it's growing pains? Get an ultrasound
as soon as possible.

Actually, the generalist did an ultrasound
and nothing turned up.

I have chronic epididymitis for about two
years now and I had scans and they said
everything seems to be fine. They said
that they cannot really find a way to
treat the pain but just take iboruphen and
paracetamol. But does not do anything in
the long-run. Sometimes the pain can be
tough at times and I have been
experiancing it on my left testicle. So
understand how you feeling. I am just
hoping that there is a way to stop the
pain permenantly.
