Q: Pregnant After a Tubal Ligation?

Almost 5 years ago I had my tubes tied at the age of 26. I haven't really considered the chances of getting pregnant again until recently. The first day of my last period was july 24the. I am now 3 weeks late. I was having some cramping on the lower left side of my abdomen but it has gone away. I have this thick ... Clear mucus when I go to the bathroom it has been going on for over a week. My lower back is very sore and my breasts are tender. I have had two other successful pregnancies but the most recent was 8 years ago. I have forgotten what it was like to feel pregnant. My symptoms are as follows:

abnormally tired
irritable
clear discharge
tender breasts
sore lower back.

I feel foolish taking a test knowing that most likely it will just be a waste of money for me because I highly doubt I am pregnant but I cannot seem to get the thought out of my head. I have even started having dreams in the last two weeks about being pregnant.

Help??? I am 31 in great health .. I just had a bunch of blood work done a couple of months ago for thyroid, diabetes, cholesterol, and even cancer. I am in perfect health. Does anyone know what the chances are of getting pregnant after a tubal?

Thanks

They are very slim but it can happen.... You would be surprised as to what your body can adapt to.... Call your gyn and ask them....

My ex sis-in-law got pregnant after her tubal. I am not sure how long after, though. Her daughter is 5. I don't know if she got the tubal right after she was born, or not. Anyway, about a year ago she was pregnant. They were shocked and disappointed at first, because they didn't want anymore kids. But, just when they had finally accepted the fact and were starting to even get excited about it she found out that it was a tubal pregnancy and it had to be terminated. So yes, it can happen.

Very common to come untied or find a new route by 10 years. Under that amount of time, I dont know. Anything is possible, I am preg with no uterus, only ovaries. If you do think youre preg you should get in right away chances for tubal preg very high, after tubal ligation. Get into dr asap.
