Birth Control, Sex On Period
Posted: 09-10-05 16:03pm

I just started birth control last night.. And my boyfriend and I had sex today and he came in me, but im on my period. Could I still get pregnant? And how long does it take for birth control to start helping?

They ask you use other protection atleast for first month. Any time you have sex you can get preg. Just more likely around middle of cycle. 1/2 way between periods. You can get preg on your period, most unlikely time --i believe-- is immediately after your period.

I agree with previous answer, but after you are on the pill, you will be most likely to get pregnant if you miss pills in the first or third week of the pack. If you ever miss any pills, take it as soon as you remeber and use condoms for at least a week.

Actually, I am on the pill, and my gyno told me to use protection for just the first week. Anytime thereafter, you can go without a back up method. You should be ok, but you probably should have waited. I can't believe your doctor didn't tell you to hold off!
