I Think I May Be In Trouble Any Advise Posted: 09-10-05 21:13pm
Hello everyone I am already a mother of a
soon to be 4yr old boy and I think me and
my hubby screwed up royally. I left him
up to the birth control aspect of sex so
he buys condoms of course and on the 6th
which was my fertil moment. 14 days after
plus I check my cervical mucus and so I
know when to be the most careful. Well we
were careful until the end when we
realized the condom fell off. Of cousre
my hubby not reading the package didnt
realize that it was not the spermicidal
lubricant brand.
i just wanted to know what are the
possiblities of me getting pregnant
durining this time. I have been
expericaning cramping for the last 2 days.
Not like menstral cramps either. I just
confused really because if I am, I
definitely was not trying or anything. My
hubby and I agreed to just have our son
and I was fine with that especially after
19 hours of natural child birth.

Hi there. Pregnancy in that situation is
always a possibility, but I would try not
to stress about until your period comes
(or doesn't). Stress can prolong your
cycle which will only add to your
stress...If ya get my drift. Ps...Maybe
you should pick out the condoms from now
on  good luck

Well, Sounds Like God Had Other Plans For Ya Posted: 09-10-05 22:22pm
Maybe god had other plans, besides only
child is usually a very sad place for a
kid. Two is good. Now a girl would be
good, then stop!! I had 36 1/2 hours
with the first son, 26 hours with the
second so 19 not so bad when I look at
it. Right?
Good luck

I never pay any attention to
supposed"fertile" days- I concived my
first child while on the pill- and I never
missed a single one ever, so should have
had no "fertile days at all"
the daughter I am currently 32 weeks
pregnant with was conceived two days after
my period - in our second month of trying,
after we'd gotten sick and tired of
waiting for the magic day and counting
everything, and having sex when we were'nt
that keen, just because it was the "right"
time, and then not having sex when we did
feel like it because we were saving
ourselves for the right day !!!!!
As for the birth, ?I will say one thing,
but i'll say it agin and again...
Epidural, epidural, epidural !!!!!!!!!!
I had one with my first, and it was
wonderful !!!!!!
Good luck either way.

I really am not stressing about it. Its
just one of those things that I just cant
afford to happen right now. When I think
about it more of what I have done the last
couple of days are the same things I did
when I was pregnant with my son. Just
wanting to drink milk and quiting smoking
before I found out I was pregnant with
him. The smell of them right now make me
sick. The none stop eating( which could
be from me quiting smoking). Like I said
I am not stressing on it just a concerned
on the similarities.

I dint believe in epidural--actually my
fears of it were confirmed a couple years
ago. Anyway, I had my children without
and I thought it was the most wonderful
thing. The only thing I wish I hadnt
missed was my last son, was a c/section--i
dint see him born. My first son they
gave me some kind of pain killer
injestion, made me very groggy when he
finally came-36 1/2 hours. My
middle--daughter I was induced from the
beginning and no pain meds at all--totally
natural I loved it--wanted to do it with
my 3rd son. But he had other plans and
needed c/sec after a few hours also
induced.

Never Never Never Posted: 09-11-05 17:55pm
I could never get an epideral. Never. No
way. I feel that if god wanted me to get
pregnant then I was made to do it
naturally. I did it with my son 19hrs of
natural labor and that is why I would
never want another one. I had way too
many complications after he was born, they
were about to do and emergency c-section
as soon as they said that I quit
hemeraging.

Natural is great but some females do not
have a high pain tolerance and their are
times that things happen and we do need a
little help! Something that is really
funny is to watch the fathers, you would
think @ times that they need something for
the pain or a relaxer, some are worse off
then the mothers in delivery!

Really high tolerance for pain has nothing
to do with it... I swear my first 3 kids
were like nope your not getting one of
those and my last one I said this time I
want one.. Really 3 natural, quick ( i'm
a lucky one) and easy my last on was
painful as heck and well I couldn't stand
2 more mins I begged for one and it was
heaven... It depends on if you think you
can do it or not. My first was 4 1/2
hours ( see told you), second was 1 1/2
hours ( even luckyer, 15 mins after
walking in the er), 3rd was 6 hours ( not
as lucky but still lucky enough, got an
eppy and 2 mins after needle was in out
she came) and my last was over 18 hours..
I had her 4 hours after my eppy. So for
14 hours I was in pain, then 4 hours of
total bliss.. The only thing I hate is
that cathiter, but I didn't have to feel
it that last time. Eppys just numb your
pain... Its just like taking tylanol for
a headache.. Just they stick a needle in
your back. It all depends on yout
tolerance and how well you can handle
it...

When I had my daughter in '91 I had a
horrible time. I went into the hospital
on a monday night. They said I had
probably been in labor/dialating all that
day. Well by 6 or 7 pm monday night is
when the back labor started. My goodness
I thought for sure my back was going to
split open! It hurt so bad I cried. My
hubby at the time massaged it with lotion,
but it did not help.
I ended up calling my parents an hour or
two later and they took us to the
hospital. I had already dialated some,
but would not progress. They fnally gave
me an epidural. I tell you what. After
they gave me that epi I pretty much slept
the rest of the time until the nurse got
the doc, and he came in and told me it was
time to push. My mom said according to
the monitor I was having really hard
contractions, but I slept through it.
Didn't feel a thing. I was so relaxed
that I didn't even have to have stitches.
She was born 7:35 tuesday morning.
The downside is that my daughter came out
face up. With my already retroflexed
cervix/uterus, and her coming out like
that it was no wonder I had such hard
labor. After she was birthed I started
bleeding out. They couldn't figure out
why. My hemoglobin dropped down from the
normal 11 - 13 to 5.2 I had to have a
blood transfusion to save my life.
I do not believe the epi caused this to
happen, and I plan on getting one again
with this baby. My back has already been
hurting from the beginning, so I know the
labor is going to be very similar to my
first one.

No, Not Like Tylenol Posted: 09-14-05 11:35am
It is very safe now adays, but it is still
risky procedure and can cause paralization
temp or even poss permanent. (in my case
I could have died.) I have never believed
in them I laid in hospital bed next to a
girl who had went paralized from one.
Then a couple years ago I had to have my
"spinal cord punchered" for a dye test in
my spinal cord and spinal column. The
procedure went fine, but I developed a
leak. My spinal fluid was running into
my body. I was drinking 64 oz water
cups ever couple of hours. Constant
severe headache for 5 days, vomiting from
the pain. When I lay my head to one
side I could fill my cerebral fluid run to
one side. So I was like 1/2 empty.
Worse than any migraine I ever had--and I
had those for 8 years. I had to ride
the carts thru the store coulldnt even
walk, pain so bad. Then I had emergency
trip to hospital to put a blood patch in
my spinal cord to stop the leaking.

Yes there is compucations it all depends
on your situation. Theres risks in
everything think about it would you take
tylonal if they stated "warning choking
hazzard" for adults ( not kids its not
safe for them at all) but still you take
them to releieve pain i'm just saying that
you take a chance of chokeing everytime
you eat or drounding from drinking.
Everything in life has risks. Yes I
wouldn't want to be paralized or wish it
on anyone but its a small risk per the
doctors. Sorry anyway like I said its
really up to you...
