Help! Off Bc And Missed Period For Months Posted: 09-12-05 22:54pm
I've been off the bc pill since march and
haven't had a period. The Dr. Gave me a
pill to start it and I got it for one
month and then have not got it since.
Also, my hair has been falling out like
crazy and i've been breaking out.

Have you had any sex? That would be kinda
important for ruling out pregnancy...
It sounds like you body is having a bad
time readjusting to it's own schedule.

Well, if you're confident you're not
pregnant, then i'll give you this:
when I first got my period, I was about
13. All went normal, it was just like any
other period. Then, I didn't have another
one for 6 months!! I don't weigh a whole
lot, so that's probably part of it.
I'm going to have to go with the original
thing I said: it sounds like your body is
having a very had time getting back onto a
natural schedule. It may have gotten so
sued to the pills that it can't control
your cycle or start it up correctly.

Hang in there is what I can tell you. I
just got off of my pill after being on it
for ten years! It's only been a month and
i've had some crazy symtpoms like the hair
falling out and my face breaking out. I
did get my period - just a week off from
when I should've gotten it on my pill.
You have to remeber that your pill
suppressed your ovulation cycles and
basically masked your system so my best
advice to you is go back to your doctor if
you're still having problems and also get
yourself on a good multivitamin and get
plently of calcium/magnesium. I also
think you should look into an herb called
vitex, also known as chasteberry tree.
Vitex is supposed to work with the
pituarity gland and work with your
hormones, though vitex is not a hormone in
itself- check it out on the internet-i
will warn you it is a slow acting herb and
may take 3-6 months to balance it all out.
I just started taking it myself just so I
can get my natural cycle back in swing-
good luck!

I too didn't have a period for 4 months
after quitting my birth control pill!! It
was terrible, and I took a pregnancy test
and it was negative. I just started my
period last week. I went and got back on
a different kind of bc though so it could
help with it. Hope things get back to
normal for you, I know how stressful it
can be!!
