Can a miscarriage occur at 11 weeks after
lifting a 4 yr old (25 - 30lbs) for a few
seconds?

If you lift something while preg and it
strains you then dont do it agaiin.
Rule of thumb for pregnancy. Do not
lift anything that is too heavy for
you--at all while pregnant. Like moving
heavy boxes, picking up tv's, couches,
etc...
I have 2 grandbaby's and the other day the
heavyest one 2 yr old strained me to put
him in his high chair--so now he gets in
himself and I only put up his tray.
Smallest one 1 yr old(almost heavy as 2 yr
old) I have been lifting her a lot less
now, I sit down on floor to hold her.
Hope this helps.
A little crampy is normal, but if you
think it strained you too much take it
really easy for couple of days.
Fatfamily is exactly right. If you have no
signs of a miscarriage then you are
fine.Just be careful but if you must lift
something try bending with your knees and
lifting that way instead of straining your
back.

Yes please be careful. One of my best
friends was three months pregnant and she
was in the process of moving and she
lifted a washer and dryer late that night
she was still cramping and the next thing
we knew she lost the baby. I had never
heard of that bf but it happend to her.
Congradulations on your upcoming baby

Welcome to the ehealth club hehe.. Nice
to know we have a doc in the house...
Lifting is a big no no in pg, if the 5
year old tries again suggest that you sit
down and she can sit on your lap rather
then lifting her. Solves that problem
and you don't have to hear her wine. 4
kids, lifting my 2 year old was a must
most of my pregnancey but I was able to
convince her to wait til I sat down to
hold her. For her and me it was a win
win situation. But defenatly try to get
out of lifting, even by suggesting other
ways of partisipating. It works.
Congrats to the new one but do take it
easy for a few days just incase.
Nashville is pitiful right now.We have an
overcrowding of homeless people from new
orleans that survived the hurricane by
coming up here.You can't walk 5 feet
without being confronted by 3 different
homeless people asking for a cigarette and
a few dollars.Ive always loved
nashville,it's a great city, its just
going through a rough time right now with
people not having anywhere to live and
being without money and necessities.The
clubs up here are great, and the food is
wonderful. Its hard to find a job up here
right now though, well I guess it's hard
to find a job anywhere right now let alone
here.
