Vegetarian Diet And Epilepsy? Posted: 09-13-05 15:39pm
My son had his first grand mal seizure
when he was 18 and he had a complete
negative medical workup at that time. He
then had his second seizure 6 months later
and he was started on medication. He had
become a vegetarian 1.5 years before he
had his first seisure. Because ketogenic
diet has been successfully used to treat
intractable seizure, I cannot help to
wonder if his seizure was precipitated by
a not well-balanced diet?

Good question! I know that some people do
respond well to keto, atkins and south
beach to help their seizure control!
About 1/3 of those who try have great
success.
