Hey,
I just found out that I have to have
my gallbladder removed. They told me that
I had to pay $3,650.00 up front. I asked
them "what if I dont have the money." the
two comments I got back were, "most people
get a loan.", and "get used to the pain or
come up with the money." well, I have no
credit at all so a loan is not an option,
and there is no way I can come up with
that kind of money, so what am I suppose
to do? Die? If theres anyone who has any
kind of advice please help!
Broke and in
pain,

I had my gallbladder out in april. The
hospital I dealt with takes monthly
payments, most hospitals do, but I had to
talk to the billing department in order to
make the arrangements. My insurance
did pay for most of the surgery, but with
all the tests I had to figure out what was
wrong, I have a $3,500.00 bill I owe them,
after insurance. I would talk to your
hospital or clinics billing department to
see if you can work out a payment plan.
If they still give you grief about wanting
payment up front, (which seems really
strange to me. They typically bill after
surgery), get your records from them &
go to another hospital or clinic...Or see
another surgeon & he can request your
records from them.
