Hello everyone. Ia'm 32 and from papua new guinea, south pacific island nation to the northern tip of australia.
I have an on going bowel illness. Too much gas, bloating, fullness, rumpling noise inside stomach. Stool is loose, sort of direahea, and constipation. Its with me for 2 years now. Seen the doctors. Wasted so much monies. Very tired. They can't help. Prescribed tinidazole and antibiotics.. Oh. I guess I am struck with irritabel bowle sydrome(ibs). Is there any cure? I read a research article by a researchers from the withington hospital in manchetster, uk that they've found a cure. Ibs is not a disease but a functional disorder. Anyone out there know contacts in ibs please...Please...I don't have the contact to the hospital. Please write and tell me. I'am suffering in silence. Thanks..Justine

All the symptoms you described are consistent with ibs. And you are also correct in pointing out that it is a syndrome and not disease and as such is managed more than cured.

- charcoal tablets can help with excess gas.

- peppermint tea is also helpful for some suffers as it helps to settle the stomach and bowel.

- avoiding too many dairy products can be helpful as can consuming good bacteria rich yogarts.

Rice, vegi's and fruit (especially bananas) are all good food options

Hi, besides all my other medical cond, I was diagnosed with ibs, I was told to increase my fiber intake, so I tried fiber choice, metamucil wafers, I also take eqalactin, which can be purchased in any drug store its for ibs sufferers. It does help. Ive done alot of research on this and have also gone to a herb shop where they have plenty of herbs that do help people with ibs. I keep a daily journal of what foods I intake, stay away from dairy, chocolate, alot of caffeine, so far I have been doing pretty good, hope this helps

Ibs
Try www.Badbugs.Com (i think that's right) it points out that many many people who have been diagnosed with ibs, actually have parasitic or worm infections & that the treatments for these are totally different & more importantly they are curable if (it's a big if) you can get them diagnosed. Apparently alot of drs just don't want to know or refuse to listen to the idea that a patient might actually know anything!!

Good luck

I Have Been Going Through the Same Thing...for About 2years
Hi,
first time on this web site and bang just what I was looking for. I have had all the symptons you are talking about!! I went to the a different doctor again last week because I moved. He gave me more tests and bloodwork but still the same thing. Not ibs or anything like that...He says I probably have a bug hahaha I guess he doesn't know either...Anyway he reccomended beptobismelto ease the gas and softstools and to fast maybe for a day or 2 to try and let my intestines rest.Do you get spasms too? Sometimes the gassy burning and bloating are unbearable and it is frustrating not knowing what to do. I am interested in finding out more about these bugs and parasites. Smile it is starting to wear me down!!I don't feel sick otherwise just a lot of discomfort almost everyday. Plus I don't know if you find this with yourself but during pms and ovulating the discomfort increases?I have done ultra sounds too for everything and the lovely stool and urine samples. Don't be discouraged..I am going to get to the bottom of this!!I am interested in knowing all your symptoms. Question

Every person is affected by ibs differently. Dairy, caffeine and chocolate may not bother you at all. Whereas other foods that ibs sufferers can eat with no problem, may make you very uncomfortable. You need to writed down what you eat and if it was an acceptable amount or too much. Then, you can figure out what you need to stay away from.
Ibs can be brought on by stress and is worsened by stress. There is medication that makes it more manageable. I was on a med for a while and it really helped. I took it before eating and it helped me digest food normally. Thankfully I rarely, and I mean rarely, ever have a problem now. So, make your doctor listen to you and give you a med to help. I hope you feel better!
