Has anyone had a hard time conceiving after being on depo? My new husband and I have been trying for 2.5 years to get pregnant and we have not had any luck at all. One possible miscarraige but they were not sure as my levels were so low on my blood test. Anyways I just want to know if anyone else has had this problem. Thanks.

Havong a Baby After Depo
Mayhi it took me 2 years after depo to get pregnant with my son. It usually depend on the persona nd how long they were on it. Some women get pregnant right after stoping the depo. Good luck!

It took me 6 months after I got off it so I dont know.I guess everyone responds differently.I think the litle thing that comes with it tells you it can take 15-18 months to fully get out of your system after you stop taking it

I Did
I got pregnant on it. And then I lost my baby on it. This yr I got on a lupron shot to completly stop everything to get me better and it was suppost to last up to a year. All I had to do was take a shot every six months and that way it should last well when me and my husband got married the next month we found out that I was pregnant. Only after being married 1month.

I got pregnant twice as a teen, on the pill. I was on depo after that for about 1 1/2 yrs and after that it took me about 4yrs to get preg. We weren't actively trying but we were not using protection either. I think the depo f***s with your system big time!

Definitly. It makes me wonder about it because they acutally use it in the prisons to sterilize men. So god what does it do to us? Thanks for the replies everyone. I guess that we will just have to keep on trying.

Yeah depo has really screwed my body up. Thats always good to know about the sex offenders.. Would have been nice to know before I let the doctor stick me.

If I would have know that fact I would have never taken depo inthe first place. Well it would be cheaper to give it to my hubby then having him get a vesecomy.

Depo Being Pregnant
I went on depo in 2003 and I was told that it wud take me at least a year to 18 months before I cud conceive which was gud for me becuz I was planning my wedding & that wud have given me enuff time to get off of it and get pregant. Wud you know that I got pregnant while on depo, 6 months lata, of course I miscarried the baby. But after realising that I cud actually get pregnant I decided to try again. I lost a twin december. One doctor told me that depo doesn't affect you that way and yet another doctor told me that it does becuz it takes a while to leave your body. I am now pregnant again, 9 weeks and hoping for the best, becuz I have been depo free for over a year now so I am hoping for the best. But the internet is a wonderful wealth of information and I got online and researched all that I cud about depo and as convenient as it is I don't think that it is the right birth control to be on if you plan on having a baby. I think it really messes up your system. My fiance and I were really sorry that we ever decided for me to go on it. We are glad that is all behind us now.
