Q: Healthy For the Baby?

I had a doctors appt. Last tuesday and when the nurse weighed me I found that i've only gained 1 pound so far. I'm 11 weeks today, I mean i'm almost 3 months and i've only gained a pound?? I thought I had gained more then that because some of my clothes don't fit anymore. My first visit was when I was 6 weeks and I know that I hadn't gained any weight before then. I keep telling myself the doctor would have said something if I should have gained more (or at least I hope he would have my doc isn't very informative) and he said that all my blood tests and stuff were good but i'm just worried that its not healthy for the baby to have gained so little.

How much did you weight starting out?
I know that people who are over weight should only gain 5-15 pounds.
The baby is the size of a lime right now (2 inches)
do not worry. It is such a misconception that you should gain a lot of weight during pregnancy.

I lost weight the begining of my pregnancy and it wasn't untill around 12 weeks that I started to put that weight back on. I think by 18 weeks I had gained 5 pounds. Everyones different. Just make sure your eating good!

i lost about 10 lbs at the beginging of my pregnancy from being so sick all the time, I ended up gaining almost 50lbs by the end of my pregnancy. Al in my belly thank god. I have lost most of it now but have to start doing crunches or something. Haha I had a 8lb,6oz boy and also had 2 amniotic sacs so that was a big part of my weight gain. Don;t worry, it's fine, you're right at the begining. You'll start gaining soon.

I knew I was just over reacting, guess i'm just paranoid. And I know that once I do start gaining weight i'll complain about that too. but thanks for all the replies and reassurance. :)

S'ok
Don't worry about it- as long as you are getting all your nutritional requirements, evrythying will be fine- alot of women actually loose weight in the first three months, from having morning sickness, and no appitite, or not being able to keep anything down.

The baby takes what it needs from you, and you get the left overs !!!!!

Actually-come to think of it children continue to do that for their whole lives !!!!!!!!
