I'm On the Pill But I Missed a Period Posted: 12-01-03 15:58pm
Hello.
I started taking the pill for medical
reasons well before I started having sex.
I haven't had any problems with it for
many many years. I'm confused and scared
now though because I didn't get my period
this month. I've started on the next
month's pills, but i'm terrified that I
could be pregnant. Do you know another
reason that I would have missed a period?
Is it ok to keep taking the pill this
month? Could taking it cause a
miscarriage? I know that I should go see
a doctor. I wanted to ask here first.
Thank you very much.

I just read soscared's posts and replies
so I feel a tiny bit better. The major
difference is that I have been on the pill
(a very low dosage) for over 10 years. I
have come on and off it over that time,
but have been on it consistently for the
last few months. I have never missed a
period while I was on the pill but missed
them all the time before I started it.
Please reply!

Well if youve been on it, then consistent
for the past few months, it just might be
acting up a bit, you should see a doc to
take a test or just get a home pregnancy
test to find out if your pregnant. Stay
on the pills in the meantime. Dont just
stop them because you might not be
pregnant and your just messing up the pill
cycle. Just take the test to be safe.
