Q: Medication Concerns

Hi,
i'm new to this forum. My husband and I are just starting to try for a baby and I could be pregant now (but not likely since we just started  )
my dermotogist has me on a topical corticosteriod call olux for hair loss that should regrow in time. It's called telogen effluvium...Related to stress or hormones or both. Anyway, my dermo declares it safe to be on, but the warning label says its a class c drug so it's unknown if it causes harm to a fetus. I wondered if anyone else had used something like this while pregnant. I don't want to lose my hair (like any woman I want to look half decent) but I would rather lose my hair than hurt my baby when the time comes.

Any ideas or advice? Planning to call my obgyn just in case.

Thanks so much,
kath

Pregnant And Medicated
Hey I am also new to the forum, and I am 18 weeks pregnant. I totally understand your concern about being able to conceive, and protect the baby while on this medication. But to try and re-assure you, I was on 4 schedule c medications when I got pregnant, and I am currently taking a steroid for my vomiting which is also a schedule c. But there are certain schedule c drugs that have just not been researched that much yet, and that is why they are on a c schedule, and there are others that will affect the mother but will not pass through the placenta. I would ask your doctor what category your medication falls into, or do some internet research, you may be surprised at what you can find out!
