Q: Questions About Birth Control?

How many weeks should your cycle be abnormal when you first get off birth control? Is it possible to ovulate before you have your first period (without bc)? I am 3 weeks late for my period and I have been off bc for 2 months...Could I be pregnant? Will the birth control affect the reading of a pregnancy test?
Thanks in advance!

yes, it is possible.

yes, you could.

no. A pregnancy test tests for a different hormone than is in the birth control pills and after two months, your body should be producing normal hormone levels and ovulating.

Take the pregnancy test or go to the doctor.
If you need anything, pm me.

I am in the same boat as you...I hate having my cycle so irregular. I've been off the pill since july (got my period right away) and haven't had it since. Since we're ttc i'm always thinking i'm pregnant. My gyno said to give it one more month and take a pregnancy test again, (i'm testing every couple of weeks) and then they could "jump start" my cycle using progesterone pills that help it along. Good luck!

I am in the same boat you are, why does bc mess up your periods so much? I thought i'd start right away with no problems and now i'm just stressing out about being pregnant! I already took one test and it said negitive but i'm going to try another this week. Hope all goes well with yours!
