It is pelvic inflamatory disease, usually caused from undiagnosed chlymidia, or gonhorhea. (however you spell them) first you have to find the cause and get rid of it. High doses of antibiotics will cure the pid if cause is taken care of. What happened to me was they never found what caused mine, I ended up stopping my periods at all, painful and bleeding while having intercourse, severe pelvic and abdominal pains, pregnancy symptoms. Anyway they never found why and I ended up getting uterus removed. When it came back from lab it showed cervical cancer. I had one abnormal pap test before removal. Usually chlymidia, and hpv cause abnormal pap tests, and gives you cervical cancer. So I never found out what mine was. This was in 1986, so im sure they have advanced by now with the testing. They found my daughters hpv right after finding abnormal pap test, they retested the tissue, did biopsy of cervix(while she was preg--boy was I pissed) and found the hpv. Human papiloma virus
