3 cervical (neck) surgeries and 4 lumbar

able to help you with your questions.
Just ask away and like I suggested in my

pain forum here.

Hi buffalo ~
the narrowing of the spine is called
spinal stenosis. Thinking about surgery
now may be to soon depending on what
doctor's you have seen for this, what
tests you had, and which less invasive
treatments you have had so far? Was your
first surgery on your lumbar spine? What
kind of doctor did you see for your back
pain? What tests have you had done? You
said you doctor said you have narrowing of
the spine, did you have a x-ray or mri?
The indent might be one of these
spondylolisthesis, spondylolysis (see
below) or something else.
Spondylolisthesis
a defect in the construct of bone between
the superior and inferior facets with
varying degrees of displacement so the
vertebra with the defect and the spine
above that vertebra are displaced forward
in relationship to the vertebrae below.
It is usually due to a developmental
defect or the result of a fracture.
Spondylolysis
displacement of one vertebrae over another
with fracture of a posterior portion of
the vertebra. A defect in the neural arch
between the superior and inferior facets
of vertebrae without separation at the
defect and therefore no displacement of
the vertebrae. It may be unilateral or
bilateral and is usually due to a
developmental defect but may be secondary
to a fracture.
The pain you have running down your leg's
and it start's from butt cheek's even when
I cough or sneeze it shoot's right down
your leg's is called sciatica.
Sciatica
a lay term indicating pain along the
course of a sciatic nerve, especially
noted in the back of the thigh and below
the knee. Pain radiating down the sciatic
nerve into the posterior thigh and leg;
can be caused by irritation of a nerve
anywhere from the back to the thigh.
Please ask anything you would like to
know about your back problem. I have
information on just about all there is for
spine problems, including kinds of tests,
types of procedures, types of surgeries,
types of diagnostic procedures, and so
much more to share. ;)
Hello again imshirl well to start thing's
off the only doctor I have seen so far is
my family doctor the test I have had are
mri} xray's} ctscan's} I have also had
needle's in the back which did'nt help at
all and now I am going through therapy
that don't help at all.I half to go and
see a spine surgeon this comming dec.6.You
see I had a slip and fall and smahed my
tailbone off the cement floor I split my
tail bone open at that time it has been
allmost 2 year's now it get's worse day by
day.The indent I have in my spine look's
just like a whole in the spine it self
covered by skin. So that's all I can tell
you for now and hope to here from you soon
you have been a great help to me so far
thank's a lot buffalo
