I am new to this forum, I just stumbled on
it today. I was hoping some of you here
could help me. I just adopted my sisters
3 little boys (she is a drug addict) and I
have a baby due in november. Plus my
husband has one son who lives with us, so
we have an instant family it seems like!
I thought I would post here, I didn't know
for sure which boat I should jump on since
I have such a blended family! Lol.
Anyways, I was wondering if any of you
have any advice on babies...I don't know
much about them, even though we have so
many kids we have never had an infant! I
am scared!!! So please give me all the
advice you have! Lol. Also I am really
working hard to get the baby and the boys
clothing and all, it is so hard, I have
tried ebay but their stuff is to
expensive, and our town doesn't have any
consignment shops and not much at the
salvation army, I have went to all the
garage sales..Nothing, our town is an
elderly town...We have 4 nursing homes!
Plus its small so there really aren't that
many kids around ! I was wondering if
anyone here would have anything cheap they
might want to sell, especially little girl
clothes or anything else they need. We
have nothing for girls since all the other
kids are boys! I am getting desperete!
Lol. If anyone does, or if anyone wants
to talk you can write back to me here or
email me at st
arduster_09@hotmail.Com. Thanks so
much, I hope I find great friends here at
this forum!

If you get a chance to travel a little to
a bigger town look on the net at that
towns newspapers and hopefuolly you will
get lucky and find a good gargage sale.
Not sure other then dollar stores,
salvation army, goodwill and walmart for
newer stuff. ( sorry walmart fan).
But thats atleast an alturnitive. I'm a
mother of 4 girls. I would say it gets
easier but really infants are alot easier
then the older kids are.
Babys mostly eat, sleep, and poop until
about 2 months then they start to want
attendtion. But really get a swing, they
are life savers for mothers with babys.
Its about the only time you are able to
clean, and take care of the other kids.
Once they get to about 6 months get a
walker and baby gates ( for stair areas).
Then other then having them at your feet
they are easier to manage. After that
once they start crawling and then walking
well thats when you start getting your
hands full and have to watch them all the
time.
Just try hard not to let the older kids
and the new baby wear you out cause they
will do that. I would get your hubby to
once a week help out with them all so you
can have 1-3 hours of quite time a week.
Its much easier handleing a large famaly
if you have some family and freinds to
help out every once in a while. Even if
its just to give youa much needed 10 min
break.
Congratulations on your new one. I know
everything will work out to the best and
the best of luck. Remeber if you get too
stressed out it is ok to walk away for a
few mins then go back and deal with it.
And if you have any questions on your baby
when she/he arrives ask away alot of ppl
will be here to help you.

First off pixie I would like to say you
have your hand full with 4 kids already
but your doing a good thing when it came
to adopting your sisters kids. I was in
your boat 4 years ago when it came to
becoming a new mommy, I was so scared but
after the baby is born your motherly
instincs kick in. You always now what cry
is what, hungry, sad, diaper change ect.
You can ask your pediatician to teach you
cpr if you are worried about choking, ours
did. Thats the worst part about becoming
a new mommy is finding the right
pediatician. With raising 4 boys good
luck, boys grow too fast. If you need to
find reasonable priced cloths that are
still decent try church rummage sales,
garage sales, or even you local once upon
a child.
Did you find out the sex of you baby if so
what are you having?

Wow! You have a lot going on! I get my
kids (3 and 17 mos) at target. They have
such cute clothes and they are not
expensive. You will be a great mom I am
sure. It is scary, but once you have them
in your arms, everything just falls right
into place. Congratulations and good
luck!
