I Don't Want to Gain Weight!!! Posted: 12-01-03 20:40pm
I'm 20 years old and I just got prescribed
ortho tri cyclen. Last time I was on it,
it made me retain water and I gained about
15 pounds. Obviously i'm not looking
forward to that experience again. I
already exercise regularly and eat
healthfully. Does anyone have any
suggestions as to how to minimize bloating
and weight gain on the pill, from their
own experiences???
(besides the obvious, like using a
different pill -- i've already tried
yasmin.)
thanks!

Have you asked your doc about any
alternatives to keeping that extra weight
off?

Thanks for your reply. Yes I have, but
she thought ortho tri was best for me
because it would also help clear up my
skin. On the pill she prescribed
previously, I had bad breakthrough
bleeding.
So, since i'm stuck with ortho tri cyclen,
for now at least, does anyone know, from
their own experiences, how to minimize
water retention and weight gain???

Count your calorie intake and make sure
you stick to a diet that works for you.
But there is another option! Most regular
docs will not prescribe it, but you could
easily obtain one form planned
parenthood.. An iud paragard is non
hormonal, no side effects, and as
effective as getting a tubal ligation, but
reversible.They just pull it out.
