Is My Heart Bad? Please Help :( Posted: 09-20-05 18:14pm
Hey, I am christopher williams, 16 years
of age and I am worried sick about my
heart, a couple of months ago for about a
week my heart hurt like hell, struggled to
breathe and found it hard to stand up,
sitting down was fine, but after the week,
it went and I was fine...
All my life every now and then, it can be
a month or a day or a hour I get a really
sharp pain near my heart and its
unbreable, just dont know when its going
to pop up...
Recently, and sadly, my freind passed away
during a football match with heart
failure, he was perfectly healthy and a
top lad, just collapsed on the field after
scoring a goal, and had no symptoms and
serious health risk's in his life at all,
but it still got him...
I am not comfortable with my condition, I
dont know what it is and I dont want to go
to the docters incase its just nothing,
just need to know if you guys think my
symptoms are normal for any risk of heart
disease? Or attack or failure, infact it
feels like electric is buzzing round it
rite now, any help would put a huge rest
on my mind

Sorry to hear about your friend.
I was just wondering...Did these symptoms
come on after your friend passed away?
If so you could be worrying about it and
that could be what
is causing your symptoms.
Please go to the doctors about this
though...It doesn't matter if it's just
nothing, just get yourself checked
out...Thats what the doctors for.
I'm 15 and at the moment am sure theres
something seriously wrong with my heart
but i've been tested and told all the
symptoms I have are caused by my
anxiety...I still refuse to believe it
though

He was also 16, and this was before, I am
going to go docters to get this checked
out, its becoming serious thought on my
head, I want it put at rest, but im scared
of the fact with living with such a
horrible, daunting thought...Thanks

You should refer to my topic on
pericarditis. Sounds like that's what it
could be, but go and see a dr asap because
it is a serious matter.

I agree with delancey, I think you should
go see a doctor for a check-up. It could
be just anxiety and shouldn't be worrying.
