Drs are just mechanics for our bodies!!!!
So you are the boss not the cardiologist
& it is your body not his so insist
that he answer your questions in full
& explain what he plans etc in full.
You have rights he's just the mechanic
you're the owner!! However as you may not
be able to get an appointment with him
soon enough to reduce your worry, go &
see your loal dr & ask for an
explanation of what this abnormality is
& what it means for your heart &
health & what sort of reasons would
the cardiologist have for getting another
echo done.
Good luck one site that might have some
info is life extension foundation www.Lef.Org - they
sell stuff but you can get the information
without buying just go to the site &
in your case i'd type in
"promenint papillary muscle to the right
ventricle" in their search engine section
at the top right of the page if this
doesn't help go to google or another
search engine & type in "what is
promenint papillary muscle to the right
ventricle" & see what comes up.
Good luck

Please Help Posted: 02-09-04 15:49pm
My mom has something seriously wrong with
her heart and no insurance. It will come
out of no where and she'll be real dizzy
short of breath, chest hurting. Real real
tired and her heart is racing out of
control, she wont go anywhere for help and
heart problems run in the family and she's
the only one not going to the doctor cause
she cant pay. I'm scared next time it
will be it. I cant lose my mom and it
hurts to know someone can help but no one
will if you dont have money.
Please someone tell me what this problem
sounds like and if theres anywhere that
can help.
Please..

Starlynn,
first, you need to relax or you will make
yourself sick & that won't help anyone
including your mum!!!!!!
Next, how old is your mum & how
fit/overweight, stressed, depressed etc
because the symptoms you descibe could fit
a number of other problems other than
heart. Stress, menopause (which can occur
from about 35 through to 60), anxiety
attacks, being overweight & unfit can
also cause these symptoms at times of
ovrework, overheat or upset. I am sure
that there are lots of other causes for
these symptoms too.
Do not misunderstand I am not saying your
mum does not have heart trouble - just
that her symptoms could be from other
problems. Also just because heart trouble
runs in the family, doesn't mean she has it
& even if diagnosed it doesn't mean
that she won't live or can't do things
(even without insurance) to help prolong
her life, just as she can do things to
shorten it.
So can you please tell us abit about your
mum & her general
health/weight/lifestyle/emotional state
& whether she has actually been
diagnosed with a heart
condition??????????????????????
Then I for one promise to do my best to
give you some information that can help
(but of course if it included say exercise
or weight loss then it's up to your mum
& nothing you or I say will help if
she won't help herself).

My Moms Heart Posted: 02-10-04 09:24am
Thank you for the reply, but I was looking
for more information. But let me tell you a
little more about her. She is not over
weight, she doesnt eat healthy, very
stressed, but we know its a heart problem
we just dont know what. Over all she is
in fair health. I'm just scared, and need
help hope this helped.
Thank you

Starlynn,
you haven't got it yet!! To get
information much less have any real hope
of getting actual help you have to
give/provide information. If I asked you
to help me with my daughter who was
constantly becoming hysterical, do you
think you'd have any idea of what
help/advice to give based on that??
You say she's not overweight, but that she
doesn't eat healthy & she's very
stressed, but that's all. You say you
know it's a heart problem you just don't
know what. Well if your mum has been
diagnosed (actually testewd by a dr &
told she has a heart problem) then she
(even if she may not have told you) should
have or be able to get a fair idea of what
the problem is.
You don't indicate her age, or why she's
stressed (is it her health or a whole pile
of other stuff or both)? How can you or
she know that overall she's in fair
health?? Plenty of apparently healthy
people drop dead every day while plenty of
supposedly or really seriously ill people
live for years.
If your mum has actually been diagnosed
then she can find out a fair bit of detail
as to what exactly is wrong & that
would help her & you & anyone else
help her. If she hasn't been diagnosed,
stop assuming she has heart trouble just
because it runs in her family. I know
families where serious heart trouble runs
rampant but not everyone gets it. My own
husband is from a family where men rarely
survive past 50 (his brother turns 50 this
year & he in 5 years time) he smokes,
is overweight & out of condition as
well as seriously stressed with a
stressful job. But none of us spend (or
rather waste) our time worrying after all
he could be killed in a car accident
tomorrow to, but i'm not planning or
worrying about that either, after all both
he & his brother may be the exceptions
- so might your mum, regardless of her
symptoms.
Given her symptoms she should improve her
diet, do some gentle exercise &
realxation/yoga/pilates or similar to
destress.
Or if you don't want to answer questions
like has she actually been diagnosed or
are you all just sasuming then try www.Lef.Org it's
site which sells stuff but also provides
lots of free info given various problems -
although they too are stupid & want to
know what is wrong before you can get help
as to what to do.

Well Forget It.. Posted: 02-10-04 16:11pm
Your answers are not what i'm looking for.
I came to this site for help, not to be
question about or if the illness is real.
Like I said before there's no money, so
theres not much help.
I'll look somewhere else.

In order to get help you need to listen,
learn & assist you do not choose to do
any. Perhaps what you really want is
either $$$$ or some sort of majic, well
you won't get either in the real world
kid, so either let things run their course
or grow up & change your attitude.

Thats very rude of you to think its about
money or anything other then needing help.
I dont plan to spill my mothers whole
life story over the net. Like I said,
thanks but no thanks for the help.
