I have a question, obviously. I've been trying to get pregnant for 2 yrs. And still I have not succedded. Well anyways, I have been told repeatedly that when my husband releases inside of me to stay laying down for 20 to 30 mins. But for some reason everytime he does release inside of me I start to leak the sperm. It comes out so much that I have to go to the restroom to clean myself before I get it all over the sheets. It's like if the sperm is not going in. This happens everytime. Is this normal or is there something wrong with me?

Very clinical this trying to get pregnant isn't it! Never thought it would be so complicated.

I was advised that once we had "finished", I should lie on my back and stick a pillow under my butt to elevate it. You should stay there for about 20 minutes, but to be honest, I used to fall asleep and so I don't know how long I was like that!

Good luck and I hope this works.

Hi jessica,

its a very common thing when the sperm leak out. But I am sure that there is still alot swimming in the right direction! Sure some women concieve while they are on top. So their must be some good sperm that can swim against gravity.

But they do say that lying on your right side (or left) will help the sperm to swim up easily. I always feel like I need to go to the toilet after bd but I wait for at least 20 minutes!!!!!

I know this won't really help....But the first time we didn't use protection, I stood on my head for 5 minutes after just to make sure they were going in the right direction! Got a head ache though!!!

I work in a dental office and we see husbands here all the time because there wives are unable to conceive. It is proven that if the male has bad oral hygiene (cavities, gum desease) that the bactria causes the sperm to be weak or causes them not to produce as much as he would normally. It has also been proven the poor oral hygiene causes premature births and may lead to miscarrages. Just a small fyi
