13 Weeks Late Period, Should I Be Concerned? Posted: 09-23-05 15:17pm
Hi.I'm 19 years old and haven't had my
period in about 13 weeks,i am concerned.
There is no chance that I am pregnant as I
am not sexually active. Before this my
periods were almost regular for 5 years.
I do not excerise, except for going for
short walks;nothing vigorous.I have not
put on or lost any weight lately.I do not
think I am under stress.I'm concerned,
should I be? Should I see a doctor?
If anyone can advise me i'd be grateful.
Thanks.

When I first got my period, I had the
first one, and then didn't have another
for 5 months! But i'm tiny, and I was
just starting out.
Because you've been regular for so long, I
think that you should probably go see a
doctor just in case. There's probably
nothing wrong with you; nature is just
giving you a respite! But there's no need
to let something like this haunt you, when
a simple doctor's visit can make you feel
content again.

Thanks. I guess you're right, its better
to see a doctor and be over and done with
it than to be haunted and worried by this
all the time.

Not Ovulating Posted: 10-13-05 18:11pm
This is a condition that should cause you
concern to go to the doctor. Your
hormones are probably not normal and
you're most likely not ovulating. You
should try to fix this before you try to
have kids.
I have other type of hormonal related
problems and like you, I dont exercise
much. I think lack of exercise does
cause our hormones to go haywire.
Recently I started taking high potency
vitamin b complex and it has brought my
period back to normal, as in 30 day cycles
with 5 day period instead of 50 days cycle
with 10 day period for me.
Try taking vit b complex, one a day woman
and calcium.
Good luck.

Pcos Posted: 10-26-05 13:38pm
Maybe u have pcos (polycystic ovarian
syndrome)--it might not be serious, but
the doc might tell u to get on birth
control to regulate periods... A lot of
women have this, especially young women 15
to 25, it's very common... U'll get an
ultrasound, check for thyroid problems,
etc.
