try looking for a doctor that specializes
in the VULVA not just a regular doctor.
There are doctors that only study disease
and conditions of the vulva (outside of
your vagina) I have vulvar vestibulitis
and I too had pain for 5 years and went to
countless doctors until I found out what
was wrong. I am doing better too. Regular
gynocologists dont always know whats wrong
and they end up treating all kinds of
things but they are afraid to admit they
do not know whats wrong and refer us to
someone else. Pm me if you have anymore
questions

Sweet Almond Oil Posted: 02-17-08 23:43pm
I'm still fissure free... I'm telling you,
the sweet almond oil worked a miracle for
me. I've even used it on my dry skin
throughout the winter. Mostly, though,
it's taken away all itching, pain, and
cracking. Give it a shot! It's cheap and
it worked miracles for me.
Good luck!

dont worry at all Posted: 02-19-08 16:16pm
When I was about 14 I had this, I was so
worried, I thought i'd caught an STD (I
was sleeping with my first boyfriend at
the time) I confided in my best friend
and, bizarrly, she had exactly the same
thing.
I later discovered it can literally just
occur as a result of hormone imbalance,
clears up on its own, and is basically
nothing to worry about.

same problem Posted: 03-02-08 03:59am
I have the same problem. Started as
painful intercourse with swelling
immediately after. What I thought was a
"scrape" ended up being a fisure according
to my gyno. He prescribed a steroid cream
that has helped somewhat but also advised
that I have thin skinned labia that easily
tears. I go back in 3 weeks for further
evaluation and possible testosterone cream
prescription. After some research,
evidently this could be caused by my
thyroid disease, early onset of menopause,
or some other unknown reason. I think
I'll try the almond oil also as my gyno
suggested baby oil patted dry to help.

Just wait and be patient, it should go
away on its own.

herpes... I am going tomorrow to my old
doctors office to see what all std tests i
have had done already... and if i wasn't
tested for that them i am going to be...
i'm very scaried and feel very lost... i'm
in a serious relationship right now and i
have already talked to my boyfriend about
wat was going on... he is being very
supportive and luckily he is my
bestfriend... but i'm so so scaried that
if i do have herpes and me and him break
up someday i'm going to have to tell my
future partners that i have this... i know
if someone told me this and i didn't have
it i would be very hesitate to want to
sleep with them... i'm freaking out

Well, herpes happens. It's far from the
worst disease you could catch. Just relax.
Any future partners, if they're truly
loving, won't care.
Herpes causes an outbreak of blisters and
sores that slowly fade over about a month.
Secondary outbreaks occur normally soon
after, and subsequent outbreaks even less
often.
There is even medicine you can take to
help prevent the spread of genital herpes
You've seen the
commercial,
Partner 1: "I have genital herpes."
Partner 2: "And I don't."
Partner 1: "We want to keep it that way,
so I take [medicine]."
The worst complication comes with
pregnancy. If you have an outbreak when
you're due to give birth, they require you
to get a c-section to prevent transmission
to the baby.

thank you Posted: 03-30-08 22:55pm
I'm just very scaried... and like i look
at the pictures of herpes and i really
don't think it looks anything like what i
have at all... they just look like little
paper cuts... i have even had my boyfriend
look at them and he says that they just
look like friction marks or irritation...
he doesn't think they look like any of the
pictures... i'm just very upset with my
doctor because even if it is herpes i
don't think they should tell u that
without being sure... but i am almost
positive i'm going to get the blood test
done this week but if it does come back
positive i'm going to be a mess....

Yeast Infection Woes Posted: 04-15-08 18:07pm
Hi ladies,
I'm so glad I found this, because I have
been getting increasingly worried, and now
I'm pretty sure it's a yeast infection
from all the responses. I just wanted to
say -- heard of "nutritional healing"?
Yeast infections are often caused by
Candida, or an allergy to products that
contain yeast and sugar. The best way to
cure this is to STOP INGESTING ANY SUGAR.
This is the hardest thing to do in the
USA, where every food item seems to have
sugar in it. Even fruits, especially dried
fruits which are more concentrated, and
even some sweeter veggies like carrots and
potatoes are not recommended for the
Candida diet. Look it up and see if it
might be a good answer... it requires a
lot of effort to prepare your food, but
it'll basically eliminate what the yeast
infection is living off of, and thus kill
it.
ANTIBIOTICS CAN CAUSE THIS Posted: 04-15-08 18:27pm
So some of you mentioned getting these
symptoms after taking antibiotics. This is
due to the fact that the antibiotics kill
ALL the bacteria in your body, including
PROBIOTICS, which some of you may have
heard of. They are the "good" healthy
bacteria that we always need to have in
our intestines, which are responsible for
maintaining a healthy immune system among
other things. When they are killed, any
bacteria (SUCH AS CANDIDA) are allowed to
run rampant and grow and grow beyond
control.
Taking probiotic supplements may help, but
often the probiotics in these supplements
are not fully alive, and they need to be
live to do anything effective. Make sure
the bottle is refrigerated and ask someone
to help where it is sold, to find the best
kind. Health-food-stores are a good source
of alternative information.

Fissure Relief! Posted: 04-21-08 19:46pm
I had this SAME
problem for 2 years. My OB/GYN thought
that it was a yeast infection; however,
the tests always came back negative and
the medications (OTC and prescribed) never
helped. They tested for Herpes 1 and 2
and both came back negative. I have been
tested for everything from HIV to diabetes
to explain these symptoms, and nothing
came back positive. I discovered this
site and somebody mentioned dry/sensitive
skin, which I have everywhere else. I
looked around my local grocery story and
discovered a fantastic product by Monistat
called Chafing Relief Powder-Gel. I have
used this twice a day since (once in the
evening and once in the morning after my
shower) and my fissures are completely
gone! FINALLY! After 2 years! This
stuff is amazing. It can be found with
the rest of the yeast infection
treatments, though it does not treat a
yeast infection, so if this is what you
really have, it will not help until the
infection is gone. It is an ointment that
dries as a powder, so no mess or stains to
worry about later. Try it! I found this
at Target. I hope this helps!!!

vaginal fissures...... Posted: 05-14-08 10:43am
OK girls, I have news for you!
I have suffered from vaginal dryness,
itching, and yes the small paper cut like
fissures. 15 freaking years of thinking I
have yeast, and being told I must be
crazy, finally to learn the truth, by a
doctor who took the time.
My diagnoses is LICHEN SCLEROSUS. It is a
very common major skin disease. It has
nothing to do with STD's, and must be
controlled with steriod creams.
It is an inflammatory condition that
casues the skin to tighten, which is why
many of us have the usual discomfort of
sex.
I always seem to be extra irratated when I
ovualate, and before my period.
To the best of my experience this far, a
betamethasone cream with canesten has
worked the best. It must be prescribed.
If you notice ANY white areas, or small
white spots around the vaginal or anal
area, please have your doctor biopsy the
skin for lichen sclerosis. There is no
cure, it must be managed, but at least you
will have your answer.
Oh and for the very sad record, most
doctors ahve never even heard of this.

Same problem for years and I have found something that helps Posted: 05-20-08 08:42am
Hello ladies I am 34 and have suffered
from these lesions every time around my
period as well. They hurt and are just
like paper cuts. I have watched your forum
for awhile now because it was nice to know
I wasn't alone but I wish this on know one
thats for sure!! I have found something
that has stopped the lesions for me. I
have been suffering from these small cuts
for over 14 years. I have been tested like
you all many times and all came back
negative. For the last 8 months I have
been taking Lysine 1000mg twice a day now
and the lesions have seemed to stop I
haven't had a break out since I started
taking them. I have done some research on
this dietary supplement and it helps treat
things such as cold sores and other kinds
of lesions. So I just wanted to let you
know for you can try it as well. My Doctor
suggested the vitamin but make sure you
don't get the synthetic Lysine for it
isn't as effective. I get mine through
GNC. But I thought I would let you know
for if you were and are like me you would
almost try anything for those painful
things to stop. So if it helps anyone out
there I am glad and I pray it does ......Angela

Cuts on Labia Solution Posted: 05-24-08 15:59pm
I was told that the cuts are actually a
yeast infection. A friend of mine has a
rather obese baby. He gets yeast
infections in the fat rolls on his legs
and they produces cut like wounds. When I
got the same cuts on my inner labia, I
called her to ask what she uses for her
baby. She was given a mixture from the
doctor that is easy to mix at home and WOW
it did the trick. So for you ladies that
are out there suffering, try this:
- Get the 7 day Monistat treatment that
comes with a tube of Monistat Cream and a
refillable tube. You’ll only need the
Cream.
- Maylox (Not Flavored) or Phillips Milk
of Magnesia (Not Flavored)
- Hydrocortisone .05 % Cream
- Desitin Diaper Rash Cream
- You’ll also need a sealable
container. I used one of the small
disposable Ziploc Tupperware containers.
You'll want to mix equal parts of all the
ingredients. I used a 1/2 tablespoon of
each ingredient and it was enough to last
about three days. Apply after bathroom
visit and you will be feeling better in no
time.

Birth Control Pill Posted: 06-30-08 20:00pm
I have had the same problem for over a
year now.. some story many have told..
tested for Herpes through a culture of the
fissure and blood test, tested for yeast
infection.. negative on all counts..
so, I experimented on my own and took
myself off my birth control pill ( I was
taking Allese, then Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo,
then Loestrin FE) and have not had one cut
since stopping the pill... it's been about
3 months. I'm going to try some other
type of birth control like the patch or
ring.
I've been reading this forum the entire
time I've had this problem and I thought
I'd let you know what worked for me.
Good Luck to all of you..

what worked for me! Posted: 07-09-08 17:22pm
Hey everyone!
I found something that has worked
PERMANENTLY for me, maybe it will be able
to help some of you!
I've been having this same problem for a
while... small cuts on my vagina that seem
to heal sometimes but always end up coming
back. They hurt a lot and I had been
living with them for almost four years. I
worried it was herpes, rough sex, etc....
all that stuff, but its not! or at least
for me it wasn't...
My doctor said that I had a yeast
infection that had spread to the skin. I
had no symptoms of a yeast infection
whatsoever, so I was surprised to hear
this. She prescribed "Clotrimazole and
Betamethasone Dipropionate" cream. It is
some kind of anti-fungal cream with a
small amount of steroids in it. You are
supposed to use it twice a day for two
weeks. After the fourth or fifth day, my
symptoms were COMPLETELY gone, and they
have not come back at all for 6 months!
This is a HUGE relief, as I'm sure all of
you can understand, because this has been
bothering me for quite some time now. So
if your doctors and gynecologists haven't
suggested it yet, write down the name of
that cream and run it by them, it worked
for me and I couldn't be more pleased!
Best of all, you don't have to use it long
term, you only have to use it for two
weeks!
