Has anyone here ever had a urinary tract
infection during pregnancy?? If so, what
are the symptoms??? Is it always painful
to pee??? I noticed after I took my
prenatal vitamin that my pee had a light
smell to it (i dunno if that can have an
effect) and my pee is kinda cloudy ....I
never really noticed it b4 till now, but I
wasnt sure if that was normal. Or a sign
of an infection. Oh an also,...I dont
feel any pain when I pee.

My vitamins have a warning label on them
that says that it may change the smell or
color of urine
so that might be the case but you might
wanna ask your doctor next time you see
him

I believe it's just the vitamins. Ever
since I started to take the vitamins I
have noticed the same thing as you.
This has always happened to me though.
Every time I have taken vitamins or any
other kind of supplement in the past, my
urine looks and smells different.

Well, I got to talk to my doctor,..And he
said that he thinks its just that I havent
been able to drink enough fluids (becuz I
cant keep anything down) that its causen
my pee to be extra strong,...But also my
vitamins probably play a part in that too.
He said no to worry unless I start to
feel pain/burning when I pee.

If you are in your second trimester, urine
test is usually done as part of your
regular check-up.

U could easily urine in a clear glass,
like those given in the hospitals and look
at it.... If it is clear, then ok.... If
u can see particles floating u know u have
uti, meaning the urine is not clear but
there is white particles in it ....

Really? How do you kno for sure thats a
sign? I noticed almost a month ago (at my
first appoinment) when I had to pee in a
cup an do the blood work,...That there
were particles in my pee. But I didnt
think anything of it, becuz I thought it
was probably nothing,...But I tried that
today, and I do have particles in my pee.
And if it is possible that I do have
one,..Can it harm the baby going untreated
for this long??? What effects does it
have on the baby???

See ur doc about it. They need to check
how much of infection or how bad it is...
When I was having uti, I had pain in the
abdomen and pelvis area........ When the
infection gets bad the pain increases...
Taking any medication during pregnancy is
dangerous, inform the doc ur pregnant
& fear of infection as the urine is
not clear.... Let them check n see if it
is normal becoz ur preg or what is causing
it...

Well I spoke to the nurse who works in my
doctors office,..And she said that the
flakes or particles w/e there called can
be normal, and that a month ago (my 1st
app.) when they did the urine tests
everything came back good,...And I did
notice the particles in my urine that day,
that was the first day I had noticed. She
said that vitamins can have an effect on
urine becuz ur body needs to get used to
taking them. But im going next week for
my second app. And they are gonna do
another urine test to make sure everything
is good. But other than that im feeling
pretty good,..My morning sickness is
finally starten to get better :) so im
happy.
