Knee Pain?????.... Acl Recon Done...help Needed
Posted: 09-30-05 06:20am

Hey guys, I had this problem/pain one month ago and I can't seem to solve
it...2 yrs ago I injured my knee while playing street soccer. But only 7
months ago I had an acl recon done using hamstring tendons on my left knee.
After that surgery, I am quite active in doin physiotherapy. I had a good 6
months physio sessions with no problem at all. But during my last physio
last session, I put in much much effort and went too far in doin my physio
and I think I strain too much coz b4 the last physio session I had a gymas
practice session in that week. Then the following day, I had pain in which i
had difficulty in walking and climbing stairs. I feel that my knee is weak
and the pain sort-of make it a bit unstable while walking .The pain is on
the tibia, where is near my scar, which the hamstring tendon is been
harvested. When I straighten/stretch my knee, it will hurt too. Btw there is
no swelling. Its been a month and it still hurts now, but the pain is getting
lesser. .But when I went to see my specialist who operate my knee. He told
me that it is normal for ppl to experience pain and he doesn't has any clue
y there is pain there. I ask him whether the screw might be the problem, he
told me that the screw is bio-absorable and shouldn't be a problem. Then he
do a check on my knee and said that my hamstring tendon is fine... To sum it
up, there is pain in my tibia whenever I apply pressure on my knee. If my
hamstring tendon are strain how long does it take to recover? Wonder if i
should request a mri? Any suggestions? Btw im 21 if age does matter...

Thanz in advance...

Hey! Im 7 weeks post op. Has anyone mentioned it could be scar tissue? If you can stand to rub it and move it around in all directions, it may help loosen it up. I have 2 spotsthat I have to keep on rubbing or the scar tissue "sticks" to spots it shouldnt. I hope I explained that ok.

Well the pains in the "good knee" certainly are related to your left knee.

Your left knee hurts, and though you may not notice it, you probably changed how you walk so you don't put so much weight on your left knee. Thats when the other knee starts having troubles.

Did you get a second opinion on the left knee? I'd speak with a different doctor.

my ex had his ACL done twice..the second time was done with donated tendons.... if you're still having pain, go back to your surgeon as it may have stretched/torn...if it's torn you'll need it done again
