Pericarditis Could Be Some of You Guys Problems Posted: 09-30-05 14:50pm
Hi, I am a 24 year old female. I was
diagnosed this past monday with what is
called pericarditis. It seems that some
of you all are having the same symptoms
that I was having. Shortness of breath,
heart palpitations, sharp, sometimes
unbearable pains in chest are some of the
symptoms of pericarditis. I would advise
anyone who has these sypmtoms to see a
cardiologist asap. The disease is mainly
in lupus patients, or individuals with
viral infections, or people that have
suffered a heart attack. This is also
what it feels like....A heart attack. For
me the pain worsened when I would lay down
or lean forward. Every small inch of
movement I would make, my heart would
speed up as if I was running, causing me
to have shortness of breath. You can't
help but have shortness of breath because
it hurts so bad to breathe in regularly,
that you only want to take short breaths
to bypass the pain. Please take heed to
