Hi, I am 5 weeks pregnant and I recently started having a brown discharge (very light) the next day it turned into a light pink and then became bright red (just spotty) and then went back to light brown and now it is gone (exactly like my period but alot less blood) I have had no cramping and not alot of blood at all. I could say with the whole episode for 3 days it only would have been enough to fill up 1 pad in 3 days. I called the hospital to have my dr paged and they said to only come to the er if I have alot of blood or severe cramping. I never had any of that but I am scared to death and don't know what is wrong. Could it be normal to bleed still at 5 weeks?

As long as u dun see blood clots, heavy bleeding, cramps, really painful tummy u r fine n r not having miscarriage.

But if it still bothers u, then u should call ur doc or visit him/her to check things out...

I think I am just so worried so I am asking everones opinion and half of them say that they bled w/ pregnancy and the others are saying no they never did. Do you know what kind of tests they can do at 5 weeks to put my worrying mind at ease?

The docs can do scans n blood tests to see if the pregnancy is progressing or not...

I hope that your pregnancy is doing okay now. But I had two miscarriages last year and they started out just like that, brownish discharge. But sometimes you can get implantation bleeding as well, so once it has stopped hopefully that is what it is. I hope that by now you have seen you ob/gyn and he has put your mund at ease with a scan to make sure your baby is okay. Although at 5 weeks there isn't much to see, not until you are at least 6-7 weeks, so let's hope for the best and hang in there :wink:

Well I went on monday to see my doc and they ran my hcg and it was only 5 so my worst fear was a reality. On tuesday I started haveing a really sharp pain in my side and went to the er and they ran my levels again and they were 2 so they did a ultrasound to see if everything had passed and everything was gone and it was not a tubal. I would have never thought I had a miscarriage b/c I never had alot of bleeding and never had cramps but I did and now I am trying to deal w/ reality. Thanks for the replies

Hi I was 5 days later 4 my period I had al the symtoms and I felt very different so I thought yey im pregnant then I noticed some reddish pinkish drops of blood so I thought I really could be preg but then the next day I woke up with stomach ache went to the toilet and there was al this blood it was really heavy and it was in lumps I went 2 the doc n he sed it was to early 4 a miscarrage but ive sent off my urine sample and ive just got to wait could I stil be preg? My belly is goin round and a lot of people say I look preg plz help
