I have been on ortho-tricyclen since I was
18. I went off it about a year ago and
switched to generic, tri-sprintec. I
gained weight, little to no sex drive, and
was very moody. I talked to my doctor
and he switched me back to ortho. Now, I
have gained even more, still sex problems,
and still moody. I am thinking of going
off the pill. I just got married and I
don't want to continue to feel this way!
I would still use condoms, but I really
think that I need to get offf this.
Please let me know if you have had the
same problem, or have any insight. I am
really getting despret!

I gained weight while on the pill also.
I'v started to lose my sex drive as well
and i'm not even on the pill lol!!! My
husband and I use condoms...And to be
honest it sucks!! I'd rather be on the
pill. Just work out to keep from gaining
weight and look up some helpful sex drive
tips on the innternet!! Good luck to
you...Try not to let it get you down!!!

I totally feel where you are coming from.
I was on ortho tricylen for 3 years then
the generic version came out but my face
was suddenly getting really oily (but the
good thing was I was losing weight!!) I
gained so much weight on ortho tryiclen
but then I was not feeling the oily face
every morning so my Dr. Switched me to
ortho lo and I gained a wooping 15 lbs in
2 months. I was sooo disappointed...I
hated myself. So I got switched back to
ortho tricyclen (generic version) but
since then I haven't lost the 15 lbs I
gained! I got off birth control and it's
been 6 months. The annoying this is that
i'm irregular with my periods and so my
Dr. Said that I should get back on birth
control so that I won't become anemic (i'm
getting periods every other week). She
prescribed me yasmin..I'm going to try it.
Hopefully it's what i'm looking for!

I felt the same thing. A couple of months
after getting married I was so moody, had
no sex drive, felt aweful all the time, so
I stopped the pill a month ago. Now I
have light cramps and sore breast but no
period.

Well since I got off it I had no period
for 3 months (the time your body has to
get used to) but then I started having
periods every other week and that was no
fun so I had to go back onto birth control
so that I wouldn't become anemic! Arrrgh!
It sucks

I went off the pill and it didn't effect
my cycle at all. But I was so glad to
get off of it as I had gained weight and
completely lost my sex drive. Now my
husband and I use condomns and it is
wonderful. Should have done that the
whole time!

Also Getting Off Pill Posted: 03-09-06 19:18pm
I experienced moodiness, and vascular
spasms which my doctor said increases risk
of stroke and advised me to take aspirin
daily so I am getting off the pill (even
though he told me I could stay on it) no
thanx, but condoms scare me like they
arent safe enough. I am 27 yrs old and
never want to have children. I try to
talk to my hubby into getting fixed but I
cant make him so what do I do?
