Clicking In Head (what Is It, What Should I Do?) Posted: 10-03-05 20:31pm
Hi. I'm looking for somebody with some
expert, professional knowledge about
symtoms affecting the head. The past day
or two I have noticed a strange sensation
in my head. It is a light clicking that
I can hear internally and feel, located
slightly to the right of the center of the
top of my head. The only time I really
notice it is when i'm walking; it clicks
with each upward motion in my gait. I
can also feel it if I just bob my head up
and down. The click doesn't hurt, but it
is annoying and has me slightly worried.
I had a headache in the same spot a few
days ago, but i'm pretty sure it was just
from a hangover. But still, it could be
connected and the thought of a stroke or
blood clot or tumor scares me so much.
If anybody has any information as to what
this strange click might be, please reply!
Please!

I been getting a similiar sort of thing, I
often feel the need to wiggle my ears or
eyebrows to get at a near enough constant
discomfort in the head, and often get a
snapping or clicking sensation at the back
of head sometimes loud and always at the
left side, i've also had some eyelid
twitching in the left eye which I have no
idea whether it's related or not and a
weird cold feeling on side of face *rare*
and a few other issues, i've had this for
months and months now, had my eyes
checked, gone to the doctor numerous times
had blood tests which all checked out
fine, but often been spoken to like I am a
mad person imagining things and possibly
suffering anxiety, which i'm not..

I'm Having the Same Problem Posted: 11-30-05 10:00am
I'm having the same problem, but instead
of to the right, just to the left of the
center of the top of my skull, but always
when walking and with a slight jarring
pain. It amazes me that nobody can help,
even after this topic has been viewed over
300 times! It would be helpful if anyone,
anyone with knowledge about this would
help, please!

Hey. I have a similar issue. I get the
same clicking sensation on an upward
movement in gait or on jumping, like a
clicking in the centre of the back of my
head, and I remember having it as far back
as the age of 12. However over the past
few days it appears to have also started
happening after mild exertion, when my
blood pressure is a bit raised, the
clicking starts again but in time with my
heart beat. This is in addition to itr
occuring on walking and jogging etc.
When ive mentioned it (without the new
develpoments) to my drs in the past they
have all said well if you have had for
that long then its probably nothing to
worry about. They expect me to be happy
with that response and do not offfer any
further advice or tests even though they
admit they have no idea what it is.
Might go back to a different dr and get
another opinion.

You have no idea how surprised and happy I
was to find this board. Like 2 weeks ago
I noticed this clicking noise in the back
of my head; at first I thought it might be
like tonsils clicking or somthing like
that but I really doubt it. This sounds
ridiculous, but it's like theres something
loose in my skull. I'm only 16 and i'v
had no medical problems and i'm perfectly
healthy as far as I know. It's only when
im walking outside by myself or with 1
friend that I notice it but around the
house I don't hear it. I'm afraid to tell
my dad because he'll think im insane. If
any one knows of a website or artical
(written by a profesional) about this, can
you please send it to me so I can show my
dad. And any advice would help too
because it's really scary.

Clicking Sensation Posted: 03-04-06 16:03pm
After reading your message especially
clicking sensation on the back of neck.
You mean just feeling clicking without
sound? I had that clicking on and off
last two years after felt into short
slight illness with painful neck plus many
different odd symtoms which was terrible
(repetitive strain injury after welding
for many years..Maybe bone degeneration) I
am better now but still have clicking
sensation. I told dr about this problem
but still did not get any answer. I felt
dr plus search in internet did not provide
me any answer at all for the last 2 years.
Will be interest about your problem only
on clicking sensation without sound
because I am profoundly deaf man.
Regards k. Scott.

Wow, i'm pretty glad I found this to learn
something isnt terribly wrong. I just
noticed a clicking in my head about a half
hour ago when I was on a walk. It would
only happen when my body would jolt in an
upward motion as I was walking. I see
theres other people with this problem as
well, but does anyone know what its caused
by or how it can be fixed?

HEAR YEE HEAR YEE.....READ ALL OF THIS
I'm getting the same, i used to have it
years ago for a few months, it eventually
went. now its back. im currently under the
most extreme stress and depression i have
ever experienced. so that is almost
certainly playing a part
if it makes you guys feel better, ive had
an MRI done (because of other health
problems) and nothing showed up.
try biting your jaw tight when you walk.
when i do this the clicking stopped. which
stopped me from worrying about it as if i
can just tighten a couple of muscles and
it stops it obviously isnt something wrong
with the brain
I have subconciously noticed this clicking
in my head for years but today is the
first time I really stopped to think about
it. it's crazy to see all these other
people with the same clicking but no
answers. tightening the jaw does stop it
but I would still like to know what it is?
anyone have any clue?

Clicking In Head Posted: 03-21-07 08:46am
hey am amazed that so many people have
experienced this problem! I started
noticing about 3 weeks ago that when I
walk fast or carry heavy bags I get this
clicking, snapping sound in my right hand
side of my forehead. Then for about 20
minutes I get a dull ache where the
clicking has occured. When I press on the
spot it stops. Also been having dull
sensation in front of my head when
getting up after being sat down for a
while. Wondered if anyone else has had
this and if they are connected. Like many
others I do not notice it happening in th
e house only when outside. Its weird! Wish
someone could explain it. Was even
begining to think maybe there something
wrong with my brain! Im sure theres not
though

Myoclonus Posted: 04-23-07 03:35am
Hi everyone, you`re problem is Myoclonus,
in your cases probably Palatal Myoclonus.
Look it up on Wikipedia - there is a good
article about it. I suffer from it too..
the head clicking and all. I suggest going
to the doctor and if nothing shows up,
then it shouldn`t be serious, just
annoying. To diminish the risk of it
becoming serious in the future, I suggest
cutting caffeine out of your diet
completely, taking vitamin B regularily,
and try some natural relaxation techiques
- yoga, homeopathy. Also, don`t undertake
strenuous physical exercise like running..
go for swimming or gentle cycling instead!
Hope this helps!!
read the Faqs section. This is all i can
offer. I was diagnosed with
high blood pressure las month and i have
been hearing the clicking
in the past week as I walk. I walk to
reduce my Blood pressure.
I suggest you all check your Blood
pressure with your GP

OhMyGosh, so I'm not crazy? Lol. I have
been having these weird symptoms since I
was 12. I get a lot of weird pains in the
head. Sometimes it feels like cool water
is on my head. The pains always seem to
occur in the same spots, like by my
temples, in the top of my head, or in the
back of my head. The cool sensation is
usally on the top of my head. I also get
the clicking sound, it usually seems to be
in the back of my head. These sensations
have come and gone throughout the last 11
years. About a year ago, I started
twitching alot. Most of the time it was my
left eye that would twitch. Other times it
could be anything twitching, from my face
all the way down to my legs. The twitching
went away for a while, but it just
recently started back up, as did the pains
and the clicking.

Hello, I am only 13! And I have this
clicking right to the left of the back of
my head, I have a feeling that this is
something to do with listening to my iPod
too high or something, it could be
something to do with the way I sleep or
something, I'm really unsure, this is the
fourth week of me having it now and it's
starting to really annoty me, any advice?
Also, I think stress is related seeing as
I am 13 and own a website which I am
currently developing and I think I'm
rushing myself and concentrating too hard.

I Have the Same Thing! Posted: 12-22-07 02:26am
On nice days I like to walk to work rather
than drive, I have noticed the same
feeling in my head mostly when my body
moves upward when I'm walking. The click
in my head is more to the center right in
the middle of my head. I have been worried
for a while now and I hope someone can
figure this out.

Well, I am going the doctors after new
year about it, it isn't very irritating
now, and it moves strangely enough...
But, when I'm in my house, I seem to
notice it more than usual.
Also, I just got someone to do a job for
my website, they don't seem to be online
much and have got me to think that they've
blocked me, it was CRUCIAL part, which is
sort of getting me stressed as I cannot
complete my website without it.
I also don't notice it when at school with
my friends.
I think the answer to this is stress, as
every time I get stress, it happens.
Seeing as different bodies do different
things whilst becoming stressed, I don't
know if it's the case. Oh well, as long as
I get it sorted...
