For Us "too Skinny" People Posted: 10-05-05 11:45am
I have heard soooooo many different ways
that I should eat those foods for helping
with my weight gain.
1) some say eat a lot of little meals with
protein shakes & in between.
2) i've then been told to eat 3 full meals
with snacks & shakes in between.
This kind of info came from different
people working at the healthfood stores or
nutritional stores next to my local gym.
I have never been given advice from a
nutritionist who may know best.
Can anyone give me advice if you've seen a
nutritionist or know the proper way to
acheive weight gain. I naturally have a
muscular small frame but I need weight
gain. Not interested in gaining mass
muscle weight like the body builders
do.....I'm plenty muscular

Whoever told you option #1 was right on
the money. You never want to be
'full'... Small meals throughout the
day.. You should be continously eating,
snacking, and drinking water. (and
consequently visiting the little girls
room throughout the day)... Keep things
moving smooth and fluid. You never want
to stuff yourself or bounce up and down in
calories throughout the day as option #2
suggests.

So justin, your saying I need to eat
little meals not getting completely
full with snacking in between & high
calorie shakes ( vs. )
eating 3 regular meals plus snacking &
high calorie shakes.
I thought I read that by just eating small
meals,along with snacking & high
calorie shakes all day long
>>>>the metabolism speeds
up.....I can't get a higher metabolism!!
Help me get clarity
thanks to you again!

That's true, if you snack throughout the
day your metabolism will speed up.
However, your overall calorie intake will
still be much higher than someone who is
dieting.
The reason you want to eat small/medium
sized meals throughtout the day is simple.
It's healthier. Eating until your
stuffed 3 times a day puts a lot of stain
on your digestive system. You notice it
after a large meal when you feel sleepy.
The blood in your body runs to your
stomach to help break down food, and your
brain gets lets oxygen... You want to
sleep. Not only this, but on your high
calorie diet, you don't want to your put
your liver under immense stress throughout
the day, or your intestines. You will
likely be taking weight gain shakes to
supplement the calories, or eating calorie
dense foods. If you eat these meals
quickly and in heavy quantities you're
going to begin developing gastrointestinal
pains and will have some painful moments
sitting on the toilet. Not exactly a fun
time.
This is where the balance between being
healthy, and reaching your goals come into
play.
If you need more advice, feel free to ask.
Also feel free to post up your typical
daily diet if you'd like it critiqued.
