First 13-week Late Period, then Bleeding For 15 Days And More Posted: 10-09-05 07:00am
Hi.
I posted before about my 13-week late
period, after having a regular period for
many years. Just when I decided to go
see a doctor I got my period on september
25th.I have been bleeding up untill now
which is the 9th, about 15 days and no
sign of stopping. The bleeding isn't
very heavy or light but it is lighter than
usual, but still bleeding. Should I go
see a doctor, or is a period this long
normal?
Also, the color of the blood is differnt
than usual, it is not really red, almost
brown and old looking?!!
Please advise.
Thanks
ps i'm 19 and not sexually active if that
makes a differnce in the answer.

Hello, I think you have hormonal
imbalance, you have to see your doctor so
that she can give you medications.

Thanks for answering. I did go and check
with my doc and she gave me meds to stop
my period which continued for 18 days!! I
also has some blood tests done and i'm
going to have a cat scan in a week. I'm
very nervous waiting for the results of
the tests and stuff.
Again thanks for answering.

Hi there,
just wanted to let you know what
happened.
The scan was fine, everything normal. All
hormones fine except prolactin was quite
high. The doc gave me more meds to stop
my period, for two cycles and then said to
see her again. But she made me have another
test to check prolactin again to see if
its still high, she said it could be
nothing but it also could be somthing to
do with the brain.A swelling or something.
I'm not sure. Anyways, just wanted to
let you in on what happened.
Cheers,
em
ps she told me not to touch my breasts too
much.. Lol.. I guess it makes the
prolatin hormone higher or something.
