I Saw This Website
Posted: 05-18-06 04:07am

I entered on this website www.Masteringfood.Com/ for curiosity and found some questons there.
Here are my answers (of course i'll not follow ant plan or something they give me, it was pure curiosity to see it, and this seemed a nice way of making people think about motivations in life when it comes to lose weight and get thinner). Those were mutiple choices answers, so some of them aren't really true, but I had to answer a minimum on each question, so I chose what fit better. :roll:

1. Motivations to lose weight:
i want to lose weight in order to:

* prevent future health problems.
* fit into clothes better.
* have a sense of accomplishment and control.
* feel better physically.
* be more attractive to other people in general.
* be more attractive to my significant other.
* gain more respect or approval from others.
* have a better self-esteem.
* relieve some of my moodiness, depression or anxiety.
* make my life feel like its going somewhere.
* better handle the ups and downs of life.
* stop envying the life that others have.
* be more free of doubts and fears.
* shed some of my shyness or discomfort around people.
* stop food from being a source of conflict in my life.

2. Motivations to keep eating:
i want to keep eating like I do because:

* when i'm lonely food makes me feel better.
* food is one of the only things that can keep me occupied when i'm bored.
* overeating is the only way I know how to make myself stop feeling empty inside.
* I have regrets about my unfulfilled potential and eating helps me deal with it.

Their first "conclusion":
the motivations in these lists create an internal conflict, and this conflict is what is keeping you from losing weight permanently.
Many masteringfood members said they had struggled to understand this conflict for many years; and they were shocked at how quickly I was able to bring it into focus. Many of them realized right away that losing weight permanently can only happen if you fully master the motivations that fuel emotional eating. Once you take charge of these motivations, there will be nothing standing in your way. However if you don't deeply explore the motivations on the right, they will continue to operate in a covert way in your life, and permanent weight loss will always remain out of reach.
But how do you resolve this conflict? How do you master the motivations that fuel emotional eating? It's too hard to solve on your own, so lets get started together.

:p lol

how are you doing?

Thats so weird to see that because all the motivations to lose weight never happen...Alll the things I want from losing weight are flip flop and I get the opposite of what I wanted to begin with...Hmm thats interesting...

Looking at the replies there hasnt been many left recently....Hopefully everyone is doing okay...If rina gets this please write me back and let me know how thigns are going with you..Its been awhile since I have talked to you,we have to catch up...And to everyone else please feel freee to write back and just let me and alda know how you are doing and myabe we can throw out some advice...Well take care everyone...!

Hello, girls.
I'm also trying to always eat at least 3 times a day and always having breakfast, because it really has helped me.
I know those things from the site are not that realistic over all, but it was funny to do that :p
well, I gotta go meet my boyfriend, he is ill and is going to the doctor now. :\ i'll catch up with you later, girls!

Hey well I am down to purging twice a week now... So I am happy with that. Now I am like worrying my therpaist is going to have me go down to one next week. But this is great I finally feel like I am really on a path that could work. Have fun during your vacations don't let anything ruin it. And ok about working it really helps me to be on a more consistent schedule, my school schedule was so erratic it made it easy to eat badly. Talk to you soon,
rina

Inezrina, it's very nice - really awesome - that you are doing fine and improving your recovery! I'm very proud of you! :d
i feel that, soon, you'll be able not to purge at all!!! :) and how are you feeling about your body and your weight? Are you improving on that too? Hope so! ;)

sam, don't worry that much abou those vacations... I want vacations too!!!! These next 3 weeks are the last of classes this year, which means that there is a lot of work to do until the end of the term. And then we have the exams and we must study... They only end in mid july, can you believe it???

Well... I'm off to bake a cake to the party tonight (my birthday is tomorrow, but the party with my family is tonight. After the midnight, we'll sing the birthday song and open the cake...).
I'll pass here later when i'm free, ok?
Let me know how you are doing!

Kisses. :)

I'm Full
Posted: 05-23-06 07:35am

Hello.
I'm at college and just came back from the cafeteria. Today I had lunch - pasta with tuna, salad and soup - and I feel completelly full. My coleagues convinced me to go have lunch with them... But I feel so full. I'm chewing bubblegum now, it makes me feel better and it increases the work rhythm of the stomach.
How are you doing? **

Hey guys,
i went to therapy today I am going to stick to purging twice this week. I can't believe I actually feel like I am getting better : ) so it was good. We talked a lot about me having fear to do things ie. Decide where I want to go to school and do it. Hope u both are doing well.

I'm sorry for the delay, first of all!!!
I'm not receiving some notifies when someone posts a reply, so I haven't checked the forum lately.

Well, sammy, i'm an atheist, but I fully respect religious people, no matter what they believe in. Before being an atheist, I was a jehovah's witness, as my parents still are. And you?

Tomorrow is my last day of classes, but I continue having to come to college to work.. :s

laura, how are you doing lately? Improving? :) good luck!
