Postpartum Urine Infection Inability to Void Posted: 10-11-05 05:26am
Hi
my wife had a forecep delivery one month
back, immediately after delivery she had
urine retention and was unable to void
completely, thereafter she was
catheterised and doctors said that this
will take a while for her bladder to start
functioning normally. My question is will
her bladder will start functioning
completely as before or is it a cause of
concern. Trial was done removing a
cathater 2 week back , she was able to
pass the urine but not completely and she
was againg cathaterised due to urine
retention and doctor advised her for
cathaterisation for 15 more days. She is
now having urotone 25 mg 3 times a day. I
just want to now whether she will come to
normal condition or not. And why has this
happened at all? What are the reasons for
urine retention ? She had urine infection
on and off during her pregnancy and just
after deliver she had (entrobector)
infection. Please let me know as I am
really worried.
