Have you guys gone to see a fertility specialist? They can help a lot by doing tests on both of you and trying to see what the problem is.

Well...
I've only heard about some of my aunt's goings-on from when she got pregnant. Her husband was the trouble, but they knew that in the first place (childhood disease left him "shooting blanks") even though she had to do months and months of medicines and ultrasounds to make sure her eggs were up to "code", she got pregnant, both times, on the first try. My mom's joke is "her eggs were so happy to get anything that worked!" but apparently there's only like a 12% chance of that happening. I don't know if there's been research done, but my family is very fertile (on both sides) so no wonder my sister got pregnant on the first time (although it can happen to anybody on the first time).

I just had my first cycle of iui. I am assuming the difference between ai and iui is whether the semen is deposited intravaginally (ai) or washed sperm placed intrauterine (iui)? Iui would result in the highest pregnancy rate per cycle, with a "take home baby rate" of 10-20% per cycle depending on your age, hubby's semen, indication, etc. I am waiting to see if my first iui has been a success. I have the wonderful "hostile mucus"--or mucus with an attitude as I like to call it--most people are pregnant within 3 cycles of iui (again, age and indications taken into consideration). The absolute best success rates come with ultrasound on day 12-13 to assess follicle development, followed by an hcg shot and insemination 24-36 hours later. You might ask your doc if he/she does this.
