I was wondering if anyone has had a neg. Hpt and was preg. I am having all of the syptoms including a missed period. The only syptom I do not have is sore breasts/nipples. I can't help but feel that I am, but I have continued to test at home and they all come back neg.

Please respond

thanks

Well usually they say to wait a week and then take another test, and if that still comes back negative then you want to call the doctor. If you feel that you might be, call the doctor and see if they can get you in for blood work. Sometimes the hcg hormone is not strong enough in womans bodies to trigger the hpt. So bloodwork is much more reliable. Dont go by symptoms. Sometimes the mind can trigger these when you are worrying about it. So just call the doctor, it will really ease your mind :)

With me and my daughter it took 3 weeks paast missed period to get a pos urine test. Have you missed that long?? Just curious

but like other writer says you can go to dr and blood hcg is more reliable and can tell sooner than urine test.

Good luck

Some one told me that they only do blood tests when you have a confimed pregnancy through a urine test. Or can I request one and they should preform it for me? This is all new to me. And I have health insurance with co pay does any one have an estimate of how much a blood test will cost?

Yes sometime they request you have pos urine test first--dont know why but....

If you were in pains or something and they needed to "know" if you were they would do blood test. Like, say you went into hospital with threatened miscarriage they would do blood test or ultra sound then theyd know for sure.

Co Pays
I have been working with docs for over 3 yrs now. Most of the time when you have no co pay it means either you have really good coverage and your insurance covers 100% or you have a deductable. If it is a deductable you need to call your doc and ask them to call their lab to find the price. I don't know where you are, but here in colo, quest diagnostics gives discounts to doc office. So for all of our "self pay" patients we would get our price and charge the patient our price. Then quest bills us and not the patient. The discount is pretty much always around the 75% range. Do check on this as it could save you lots!!! Also check with your insurance to see what kind of coverage you have with blood work. Hope this helps.

You will probably have to pay like 25 dollar copay. I havent heard that they wont do a blood test, but I can guarentee they are going to say wait a week. Your period is only like a day or two late, which can happen at any time with any one.

I had a blood test at my request, and I only did 2 home tests....My co pay was only 15 dollars and the insurance took care of the rest. I just told my doctor I felt really weird and told him some of the stuff that was going on and it was a definite possibility that I could be pregnant. But I wasn't, even though I felt so strange. Don't know what the problem was. :)
