Just Wondering Posted: 10-13-05 13:28pm
I was wondering if anyone could tell me
how much longer I have until I go into
labor? Last night during my bath I lost
a part of my mucus plug. It was no big
deal so I just went to bed. I was woken
up around 2:30 with what felt like severe
menstrual cramps and a constant pain in my
lower back. It was so bad that I could
not get comfortable in any position so I
never fell back asleep. The pain stopped
around 8:00 this morning but I just lost
another part of my mucus plug only this
time it had a lot of dried up looking
blood in it.

Hey
I lost mucous plug with the beginning of
braxton hicks that lasted 4 days before
the actual birth. When they start to get
a little more painful that your normal
cramps start timing them its normal to
have back pain with them. If you have a
hard time sleeping this is what I used to
do put an ice pack on belly, heating pads
never worked but try one or the other,
just make sure you wrap the ice pack with
a cloth or somethig. Take a bath the
bath will take away the back
pain............Im in a sitiuation with
back pain right and baths help.
Loosing you mucous plug doesnt mean you
going into labour its just a sign of early
labour that can last from 1-3 wks before
actual birth. If there was blood dont
worry sometimes plug will have blood on it
but if you have any concerns call triage
at labor & delivery there very quick
to help you.

When are you due? I lost my mucous plug
when my water broke and that's how I knew
I was in labour although I had been having
cramps all day before that. I just
ddin't realize they were contractions-lol

I'm 38 weeks pregnant also, and I am
experiencing more frequent contractions,
diarrhea, an increase in vaginal
discharge, cramps (menstrual - like), and
nausea. My doctor told me the nausea was
normal for a woman who is nearing "the big
day." so i'd say pre-labor, or early
labor is to blame for your flu-like
symptoms. I hope everything works out,
good luck!

same symptoms! I thought I was getting
sick but I haven't gotten a fever yet so I
guess its nothing to worry about. I hope
everything goes good for you too, sounds
like were both close to the big day! I
cant wait to finally hold my baby boy!

Yeah, it seems to be closer and closer
everyday. Good luck, and I hope your
baby boy is healthy... And things aren't
'too' hard for you in labor and delivery.
