Hello!
I am new here.
I have diagnosed hepatitis b five years ago. Hbeag has just turned negative and anti hbeag turned positive a few months ago. I am now pregnant (7 months). I have a regular schedule to meet hepatologist doctor. I have tried to use lamivudine (100mg) for 3 years when hbeag was still positive and found that in the end of third year lamivudine had no better influence for myself (no improvement on all parameters). Recently my hepatologist told me to administer lamivudine again a month before delivery date and 2 months after along with a shot of hb vaccine for the infant within 12 hours after delivery and followed by 2 doses of hb vaccine with a month interval. But when I met obstetry/gynecologist, he said that my infant will also need a shot of hbig to insure better performance of therapy. My questions are : 1. Does the lamivudine treatment like I mentioned above is a proper medication for my condition?
2. Should my infant take a shot of hbig (hb immune globulin) after delivery since my hepatologist told me that because my hbeag negative my infant is not neccessarily need a hbig shot?
Thank you.
