Period Question...
Posted: 10-13-05 19:41pm

Okay, I have gotten my period today..Is that normal sometimes? It's sorta of medium, and sometime light, and not much is "coming out." but today in the shower, there was...How to explain this, a little bit of alot coming out? I guess thats how I could explain it, that was the only time it was heavy, and I had called my mother and she said that was no problem at all...But it was a little heavy for a second there...Is that okay or no?

I don't know much about bleeding while pregnant and such. But when you're usually having your period have you ever like sat for a long time, or gotten up from bed and it feels like you've peed your pants or something. Just that "whoosh" of liquid? Maybe it was "heavy" because it had been sitting, and even if you weren't sitting, maybe just more "tight" than you are in the shower, then it could've just been flowing right after collecting. Not that you were meaning to hold it in, but maybe you were. Just to be sure though, you might want to call like a nurse-hotline or something. They don't charge and they can give you a good, educated, answer about whether you should worry or not.

Well, it's just been a little bit more than it normally is, and my grandmother is a nurse and she said as long as I dont get any blood clots I am fine, but I have had alot of bleeding, the first two days anyway and now its going away a bit...So I have no idea what it going on. My grandmother said its nothing to worry about because some women get their periods for 2-6 months...But you can bleed alot and then having like none at all? When it had first came, it was pink and now when I wipe, it can still be pink...

Grandma's Advice?
Posted: 10-14-05 18:08pm

Did she mean 2-6 weeks? 2 weeks is a bit much, but months? I think your grandma might be going senile (no offense, but that's like "emergency room! Now! Kind of crazy-bloody!)

Do not worry, your grandma is not senile, that is the truth, some women dohave their periods through most of their pregnancy. I bled for 4 months with one of my pregnancy's, that is why I could not believ I was pregnant, but you still might want to get checked out with the Dr. Every pregnancy is a little bit different.
Good luck!

Yeah, most women bleed sometime in their pregnancys. I have experienced some bleeding and it seems to happen around the time I would normally get my period. The doctor said as long as it doesnt go to a brown color or you have clots, then that could mean trouble. You still should go see a doctor and just get it checked out to make sure all is well. Good luck to you:)
