Need Help Reading Mri Results Posted: 10-14-05 12:52pm
Hi, i'm new to the board. I'm a 31 year
old stay at home mom. For the past 2
months, I have been experiencing tingling
in my arms and legs. It is more intense
in my hands and feet and is constantly
there. I have been very concerned about
the possibility of ms. Neurologist sent
me for an mri. He has had the results
now for almost a week and has yet to call
me and does not return my calls. He is
out of the office on fridays, so rather
than more waiting all weekend, I went and
got my report from the facility that I had
my mri.
Impression:
5 mm nonspecific focus of increased t2
signal seen within the brainstem at the
junction of the pons and medulla. This
does not abut the surface of the brain.
Demyelinating disease is not excluded.
If there is need for further imaging, mri
with contrast and/or diffusion sequence
might be of use in assessing for active
plaque. Correlation with csf studies
might also be of use.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to
what this means? Is it ms? I would
appreciate anyone's input on this.

this says basically there is a lesions
seen in the brain that is older. No
contrast being used does not show current
active lesions and needs to be redone.
Sorry but you need another MRI
