I’m 25 from atlanta georgia, and i’m doing an essay in my collage english class.

The topic is, “shy or socially inept men are finding it harder and harder to find a mate because girls’ standards have gotten higher and more unforgiving. Men are never seen as being shy or socially inept; instead they are misunderstood as being arrogant, standoffish, and snobby. If they ever try to brake out of being shy, and make a fool out of themselves; they are never forgiven, only making them even more shy.”

please keep in mind; this is an exemplification essay, meaning I need examples of this happening. Examples of it happening to you or to someone you know. Also, if you can give me some links, or book titles where I can find some statistic or more examples on this, that would be great.
