Am I Having a Miscarriage? Am I Even Pregnant? Posted: 10-19-05 11:30am
Here's the thing I have been married for
two years and I went off of birth control
about 6 months ago because we do want a
child. Well on october 2,3,4 I had a
light period which was early I just
spotted a little then, now ever since then
I have had back ache in my lower back it's
not to the point where it's unbearable
just annoying. Now on october
15,16,17,18, and today I have had severe
bleeding which I have never had a heavy
period in my life. My back is still
hurting and my period has never been
irregular before. I am going through a
regular size tampon about every hour. Do
you think there is reason for alarm here?
Do you think I am even pregnant? Should I
go to the doctor? If I am pregnant does
it sound like i'm miscarrying? Please I
need some advice.... All is appreciated!

I would try to take a pregnany test. If
there is still enough hcg in your system
it will show up. If it is positive go
the hospital or call your Dr. And don't
use the tampons. They can cause
infection. Good luck. I hope it is
just an irregular period. Before all
this when, was your last period?

My last period before this month was
september 9,10, and 12th but before that
all my life my periods normally are a full
6 days but really light... So they have
been some what irregular for a while. I
made an appointment w/ my Dr. But she
couldn't get me in till next tuesday the
25 and i'm just worried if it something
serious if I should go ahead an be seen..
I will be really happy if I am pregnant
but all of this bleeding can not be good
if I am.

Take a test. Try one of the more
sensitive ones. If you are pg then you
really need to go the Dr. So if it is
positive call your Dr.'s office, if they
still will not see you until next week
then go to the hospital. If you are
miscarrying, you could be at risk for an
infection. It's better to know.

do you know that some women get pregnant
and even miscarry without even knowing
that they were pregnant and just have
their period as usual. But I do hope that
you took the test or you shud just go see
your ob/gyn, nothing beats an ultrascan
:) let us know what happened.

It's still continuing today. I go to the
doctor tuesday, I can't wait to find out
what is going on. Hopefully it's nothing
serious. As soon as I figure out what's
going on I will post it on here so maybe
other woman who going through this problem
will have an idea of what may or may not
be going on. My back is still hurting
today, and my boobs are really sore today
but the bleeding is still continuing but
it's really light now so who knows what
the heck is going on. I haven't taken a
test I figured I would just wait till
tuesday. So I guess we will see then.
Thanks all for your opinions.

Am I Having a Miscarriage Posted: 10-20-05 15:16pm
Hi, i've just been looking online today
b/c i'm grieving over a miscarriage. I
just found out yesterday that I had been
pregnant and now, I learned that i'm going
through a miscarriage. I like you have
been trying to get pregnant i've been
married 7 years and we have an adorable
two y/o dd. And I truly don't want to
scare you, but your symptoms are exactly
like mine were. I had a very light
period 1-2 days on oct 2 and then on
october 16, I started again only 14 days
b/w. I wasn't too worried until the 18th
when I started soaking a tampon about
every hour with heavy clotting and a lot
of blood. It didn't really occur to me
that I was pregnant, ijust thought I was
having a very bad period, but I like you
never have heavy bleeding. Anyway it
continued through the night and still
today. I finally called my ob/gyn and
she suggested I do a serum hcg test (blood
test to confirm/unconfirm pregnany for my
own piece of mind. When I arrived they
said they would do a urine test first and
I was quite shocked when the urine test
showed positive pregnancy, I was about 6
weeks pregnant and going through a
miscarriage. I would suggest taking a
home pregancy test, even though you are
bleeding heavy it showed positive on me.
Now I have to go back on friday to see if
my hcg levels have dropped and if so no
further treatment is needed. If not,
they will do what's called a d and c to
remove excess tissue, which makes me
shudder to think about, but i'm told that
if this is not removed, an infection could
result. However, on the positive side, I
guess it's not super common to have to
have a d and c, so i'm praying that I
don't. I hope you aren't pregnant and
just having an odd period, b/c it is quite
sad and depressing to have a miscarriage.
I didn't think I would react so
emotionally to loosing a baby, but I did.
And that's normal. I'm truly ready to
quite bleeding as it is so emotional
knowing what the blood is. I makes me
almost sick to have to deal with all the
blood. So I will pray for you and wish
you and your husband the best. Please
know that i'm truly thinking about you and
hope all is well!!!

Wow! I don't know what to say. I want to
start off by saying, I am very sorry about
your loss. Also, I want to tell you thank
you for all of your advice. I have been
really worried about what is going on with
me b/c I have never experienced anything
like this. I don't have any children yet
at all so I don't know what being pregnant
feels like. I would be very sad to know
that I lost what would of been our very
first child, so I hope and pray that's not
what I find out tuesday. I told my doctor
everything that was going on and I thought
she would want to get be right in but I
have to wait until tuesday. My back has
been hurting so bad that i'm just lying
around the house to keep it from hurting.
Is it possible for this to be happening
and still be pregnant and it be healthy?
I'm really nervous and scared. I haven't
been sick to my stomach so maybe i'm not
pregnant. I'm 21 married three years and
really want to have my first baby I don't
understand what is taking so long most
girls get pregnant really fast. I have
been off of birth control for 6 months.
Well thank you for everything you have
wrote to me. When I find out what's going
on tuesday I will post it on here.

well, let me tell ya, I had three d &
c's done, up to monday I had one done.
But that was a little different becuz I
actually had to go into labour to help
bring the baby down, although it was
already dead. I was 12 weeks along and
becuz my doc wanted to send my sample over
to the uk in tact for gentic testing, I
had to bring the baby in the sac and
everything as oppose to him sending just
tissue.
But they are not too bad. Your doc will
just give you a mild sedative and it takes
about 10 to 15 minutes, cud be less, and
you are uually kinda groggy after that for
most of the day, you will just want to
sleep.
I was just getting light spotting at
first. But today it seems to have just
taken on a different turn and coming a
little heavier with some cramping. It was
uncomfortable this eveing. But I took
some ibeprofin and that seemed to have
settled it down.
But your doc will give you antibiotics to
take for about 5 days and something for
the cramping as well, and you will
probably bleed for about 10 to 14 days.
That's the part I hate and then I guess
anothe 5 to 6 week sbefore your normal
period returns.
But my last one wasn't easy. I trust that
you get thru yours safely and that your
recovery is well. Hang in there.
