Tummy Tucks
Posted: 12-06-03 03:18am

I just lost over 50lbs now the lower part of my stomach is saggy. I hate it. Question how much is a tummy tuck, and is it worth it?

I had a tummy tuck about 3 years ago. I gave birth to twins, and no matter what I did, my belly button was gone... Ugh! So, yes, I opted for one and am very happy. I would have, however, just opted for the skin removal and the making of a new belly button. Before I went into surgery, by doctor checked my stomach muscles and said they felt tight already, but then opted to tighten them further. Pretty painful. The only other draw back i've had, was where he cut (lower incision like a c-section, that extends to my sides) where my sides end with the incisions, I now have love handles in that spot where the fat wasn't taken out. But, it was worth it. Good luck! My surgery cost around 5 thousand....

to Tuck, Or Not to Tuck...

I use to have a great stomach, until......The baby. It has been 6 months and I have loose skin but not a lot. I also have stretch marks too. My stomache looks okay when standing but sitting it just folds onto my jeans.

Will this go away more if I give it more time?
Please help!

I don't want to scare anyone but I had a tummy tuck 2 years ago and I am still in pain. I do however have a lap!!!!!! Mine cost around $8,000.00 total. I can say that I would have the skin removal and liposuction again if I had to do it over. Just not the muscle pulled in. They think it is a suture hitting a nerve but know one knows for sure why I am in pain. My scare goes from the back of my right side to the back of the left side but that is fine with me and most underware cover it! I would take the scare over that nasty hanging skin anyday but the pain was tough because I had the muscle tightened which I would never recomend to anyone. It was painful to recover from but I also had my 18 mon. Daughter from a week after the surgery. But I would do the skin removal all over again and I do have to admidt I do have a narrow waist line now so all in all it was tough but well worth it to me I have a lap! This may sound funny but that is what got me through the recovery I was just happy as all get out because I had a lap!!!! I also know people who had it done it never had a single problem with it at all! In fact I am the only person I know who had any problems!! But that is par for me...Nothing ever easy! Angie
