My mom told me that the flu that the pigs have can kill the baby, is that true?...Im only 30 weeks. I havent gottan the flu shot yet, thinkin about callin the hosp. On monday and seeing if I can go there and get it, but I dont think that can help me from getting sick from the pig flu. Anyone know ne thing about this????

Its nothin like the bird flu..Lol..When you work with pigs and they have the flu you can get it from them..My bf's brother in law told him he probably wont catch it but it could happen, I was just worried because that night he came home and he wasnt feeling good and last night I wasnt feeling good, but I think it was from my prenatal vitamin and not having enough food in my stomach. For some reason food is starting to just not sound good and I dont eat very much-yesterday all I had was a slice of pizze,a peanut butter sandwich, and a scoop of mashed potatos. The pig flu isnt something that goes around killing people, it just makes you sick for like a day or so, you feel weak and nauseated. But if I got it it would kill the baby and I was all freaked out....Thanx for ur reply.

As far as I know the common influenza or common flu comes from pigs, if I am not mistaken. As for many other common diseases that humans face.

They come from farm animals, because people have always been close and around animals like cows, pigs, chickens and so on. That's why when the europeans first came to the americas millions of native americans died of measels and small pox and things like that. Native americans did not farm and were not immune to european diseases that they got from farm animals.

Hi there! You should call your dr or talk to the one on call. He/she might want to check your bf out too, at least it will help your worrying.
Keep us posted. Sure hope everything is o.K.
