Q: Miscarriage Confusion

Hi, almost 3 months ago I had a miscarriage at 7 weeks. I bled for about 6 days, lighter than one of my normal periods. An ultrasound said everything was fine. I then waited 6 1/2 weeks to get my next period, which was 5 days of light bleeding, a day off, and now I am on my 14th day of really heavy, clotted bleeding, with no end in sight. Does this sound normal to anyone? I feel like my dr hasn't really explained anything to me...It all seems like this is no big deal (for him).. .Believe it or not, this is causing my more (if that's possible) depression and upset than the original miscarriage (i have 2 other children).. Please tell me something!

I suggest getting a new doctor. I, however, can't answer your question, sorry.

First off...Did you have any unprotected sex after your miscarriage. It is possible to become firtile again right after a miscarriage. If that is the case then it is possible that you maybe going through a second miscarriage. My advice would be to go to the Dr. (someone else). You should not bleed for that long for any reason at all...Another thing if you dont mind me asking, how big are the clots?
Keep us posted
good luck

I agree with last post. After I lost my pregnancy in mid july, my doctor suggested that I use protection and not get pregnant again until I had two full menstral cycles. I asked why I had to wait and she said if you get pregnant again right away you are at much higher risk of a micarrige.
Also if your doctor isnt compassionate about your situation then I think it is a good idea to change doctors.
When I was pregnant the first doctor I went to was an ass. I was really emotional that day (duh) and crying some during my visit- I was just really overwhwelmed even though I planned to get pregnant, also I quit smoking cold turkey so I was a little freaked out. He asked my 3 times during my visit if I was sure I didnt want to terminate the pregnancy.
That was my first and last visit with "dr. Death" as I like to refer to him.
My next doctors office was wonderful, even though I lost my baby I will go back to them because they treated me so good.
Good luck to you sweetie. And im so sorry for your loss. I know it is hell.
