i think some of the ppl on here are right
when they say ppl are here on way to quick
to jump down someones throat. I never
said anything to offend anyone and I sure
didn't ever say that the test strips
didn't work. All I did was correct u in
saying that they don't tell u when u are
ovalating cause they don't, all it does is
tell u when u have ur lh surge and just
cause u have that does not mean ur are
ovalating. I think that ppl have a right
to know that cause how would u feel if u
didn't know that and u still weren't
getting pregnant with it. It's only
supposed to be used as an aid along with
checking ur temp, cervical mucus, ect. I
even use them.

generally, doctors
advise that you try on your own for a full
year before seeking help from a fertility
specialist. To maximize your chances of
conception, I would suggest that you
invest in one of those ovulation monitors
which can tell you the days when you are
most fertile. Basal body temperature,
taken in the mornings, can be used to
indicate the day you ovulate. Before
ovulation, in the mornings, your
temperature tends to be lower. On the
day of ovulation, your temperature tends
to spike somewhat and stay elevated until
after your period is over. Bbt used to
be a widely used method but newer
ovulation monitors can tell you then
entire week, not just the day, when you
are most likely to be fertile thereby
cutting down your conception time
dramatically. Best of luck!

i have heard the same about waiting a year
for seeking fertility help, but someone I
work with's friend was only trying for 3
months and wanted to speed things up and
her doctor put her on clomid, and now she
is pregnant with triplets...

it's also largely
dependent on age. If your friend was
older or nearing 35, they advise cutting
the time down to 6 months. A good doctor
who is interested in the .Woman's health
and a healthy pregnancy generally will not
cut down the time anymore than that.
Some doctor's do whatever their willful
patients want and this may pose problems
later on. Othertimes, a patient may, in
their understandable desperation, lie to
the doctor on when the couple started
trying to conceive. This tends to
undermine the doctor/patient relationship
and can pose problems later on.
If you are relatively young and healthy,
the best thing that you can do is to
adhere to trying for the full year before
you start seeking professional help to
ensure the safest, healthiest pregnancy
possible. While your friend is probably
delighted, pregnancy with multiples does
tend to be harder on the body and she may
be very lucky to be able to carry to term
without losing any of them. I know that
you are feeling frustrated but it really
is healthy if you try to become pregnant
on your own without all of the drugs and
fertility medication. Best of luck!

jenn
