Hello, I am new to the forum.
I have been thinking that I may need a
hysterectomy. Over the summer, I missed
almost 3 cycles, then it finally came in
august. Not even 2 weeks later, it came
again (sept), but this time so heavy I
bled for 15 days. I saw my doctor, had a
pelvic exam and a pap smear-all is ok.
My cycle started again oct. 15-still
bleeding, but very heavy and have been
cramping every day since it started. I
left a message for my doctor-i want to
recommend an ultrasound to check for
fibroids.
My mother had them and had to have a
hysterectomy, my grandmother had tumors
and had to have a hysterectomy-can this be
a hereditery problem?? Any advice from
anyone would be appreciated.

I read your post, and yes if I were you I
would get checked out since you are having
irregular periods, and I would also ask
about getting your thyriod checked as
well, but yes it can be herditary, but if
theirs nothing wrong with your female
organs he will precribe you something to
make your periods not so heavy, so do see
your doctor and get a complete
examination, and pap smear, and tell him
about your heavy periods. Then I think
you will be ok. Good luck to you and
