I Have Irregular Periods...can I Still Get Prego? Posted: 10-25-05 08:07am
I went to my doctors about two weeks ago
and my doctor said that I can have sex
whenever I want cause I cant get pregnant
because I have irregular periods so I am
scared cause my dream was always to be a
future mother I am 19 and getting married
in 6 months. But if I cant I am not
getting married. :?

I am not sure if you are a believer, but
with a little praying and faith in the
lord he can make miracles happen. When I
was six years old I was raped, my doctor
told me I would never be able to have
children. I got second opinions and
everything. I am now 22 and have a 17
month old. My pregnancy was perfect and
my labor went without complications.
There have been many cases where doctors
tell people they can't get pregnant and
then they do. I think you should get a
second opinion and find out why you are
having irregular periods. Are you on
birth control? If you are maybe that is
the problem, but if not it could be the
same case. Get on birth control for a 6
months or so and it should work itself
out. Why wouldn't you get married if you
can't get pregnant? If you truely love
each other that should be the last thing
on your mind. There are ways around
getting pregnant-adoption, seragant
mothers or fertilty drugs. Good luck and
hope to hear from you.

I myself was also raped when I was 6 to 8.
And yes I do attend a church and a
believer in the lord I think that is how I
made it this far. I been trying for about
a year now and still no answer. The
reason I wouldn't want to get married is
because I would want to give him something
he most desires and if I cant give him
that then what am I good for. I mean I
know me as a person is worth it and I know
that I have a lot to offer him but still I
think that bring a child into the world is
a blessing. Sometimes I just feel so
worthless and then thats where I look
towards the lord. Ooooo.... Congrats
having a baby. I know that it must be the
most amazing experience in the world I
just wish I could experience that

I think you should go to another doctor!
Have you checked out your temps. I hear
that they work well. Has your fertilty
been checked? I wish you well, and I will
pray for you myself. Good luck, and
please do some researching on your
menstrual cycles. Ask lots of questions-
and you are worth something, I know there
will always be that void if you can't
successfully conceive :( somehow you will
have to find that something within
yourself to strive on. If the man you
are going to marry loves you he won't give
up on you-no matter if you can bear child
or not. :) have faith in the lord and
have faith in yourself!

I say this with the upmost respect and
love for you as you are my sister in
.God's eyes. I know you must love our
.Lord dearly and desire to have an answer
from .Him. Knowing that your main concern
in life is the will of .God, maybe you and
your future husband should do a bible
study on fornication. I know .He does
bless people with children out of wed lock
but if the two of you were to get married
the issue of letting the love of your life
go over infertlity would be out of the
question because you would be wed and
could face this as man and wife. Maybe
this is something that is going to bring
the two of you closer then you ever
dreamed. I will be praying for you.
Remember that when you get down. :)

I would ask for a second opinion. My
sister has very irregular periods (3-4
times a year). The doctor didn't say she
was infertile, just that would be
difficult to get pregnant on her own
without medical intervention because she
does not ovulate all the time (hence the
irregular period).

What do you mean by irregular periods??
Like, you miss some periods or they come
whenever they want?
I would go through some months where I
would have irregular periods and what I
mean by this is that I would get my period
maybe twice a month or so for a few months
and then it would go back to regular for a
while.
While I am on my periods "regularly" I
will have it for 7-8 days. I am 3 months
pregnant now and even though I have been
having bleeding for 2 and a half months it
is slowing down alot now. Some days I
won't bleed and some days I will just
spot. As far as my last ultrasound shows
my baby is still growing at a normal rate.
