Hi to you all I have just joined the site,
I have a cavernous heamangeoma in the
centre of my brain, I have been told that
nothing can be done as an operation would
be to dangerous, I was diagnosed in may
2000 when I had my first stroke due to a
bleed, I have had quite a few problems
since but learning to cope, I will be
keeping up with the site and reading your
postings. :)

Hi,
i had an avm removed in jan. Of '86,
though mine was located left temperal
lobe... If you ask me, any surgery is
risky, but sometimes worth trying... I'm
only guessing here, but I can't help to
wonder maybe they choose not to do surgery
because of the location of it? Like
yourself, i've had my fair share of
strokes as well and they're no fun...
Have you seen more then one neuro about
this? And, are you currently, or have you
ever, been on any medication?

:) yes I have had second opinons, but
because it is in the centre of my brain
and the avm is combined with healthy blood
vessels, doctors say that the risk is far
to high. At the best I would be left with
a lot more dissability than I have now, at
the worst I would not make it through
surgery( nice !) thanks for your reply, I
am on meds for temporal lobe epilepsy, but
as this only happened when I had my first
stroke, and I do not seem to have any
problems with that, I am now asking the
docors if I can come of the meds.
