I have recently suffered a broken jaw, and
have numbness in my chin and lower lip.
Is this likely to go away and if so how
long does it usually take?

I have suffered a broken jaw since the
middle of last year, 2006. I had went to
the hosputal in my country and they told
me that it was a clean break and did not
need surgery. Now I having problems with
my mouth, which i was told would have not
occurred. I am poor and cannot pay for a
surgery on my own. I am only wondering if
the widening of my mouth and my teeth will
get worse. Must I obtain surgery or will
this stop. I am now sounding as if I have
a lisp when i speak. This had never
occured before. My main pondering is if
this lisp is now going to be permanent or
if it is simply a temporary thing like it
was when I first obtained my broken jaw?
